Continuing from my previous post, I would like to point out that the later games in the Mario and Luigi series- Oh wait, this is a Sonic thread all of a sudden? Ok, fine. Yeah, Chao Garden is pretty much the only reason to keep playing the Sonic Adventure games.

You've already had your turn at the Cube Punching Bag! But since you're so eager to beat me to a pulp again I'll feebly defend myself so you can watch me squirm. I agree that Super Paper Mario, Nintendo's attempt to blend RPG and platforming elements, was really just a platformer with too many numbers. But it was still a pretty decent game in its own right. It still had the charm and self-awareness of the first two games, which has always been my favorite thing about the series. I haven't played Sticker Star, so I can't agree or disagree with your opinion about whether it's a "bastard child" of the series. I'll be getting it pretty soon, so keep your punching gloves ready. I've never played Super Mario RPG, so I won't pretend to like it less than Paper Mario for the sake of being right. As for the Mario and Luigi games, I guess that depends on what you want from your Mario RPGs. The combat and gameplay mechanics in those games are certainly more fleshed-out than in Paper Mario, but Paper Mario has a certain wit and charm to it that M&L just seems to lack. I'm not really sure how to explain it, but Paper Mario's sense of humor appeals to me a lot more than M&L's. I don't really care if the game itself is a decent RPG, as long as the characters and story are making me laugh. All of this is a matter of opinion, and frankly I've had enough of trying to defend my personal tastes for one night. Continue your assault if you want, and I shall do my best to conjure up some paper-thin retorts tomorrow. :kiss:

Superstar Saga is good, but to me it just didn't have the same charm as the Paper Mario games. And I'm prepared to take this thread even further off topic to defend my position.
