I dunno, for some reason I'm really enjoying all the Christmas stuff this year. Maybe its because I spent half of the year out of town in blistering heat in a narcotic induced stupor. Or maybe its because we almost have Christmas break. Not sure.

Finally, after a stern talking to with my bootloader, I have sucessfully installed and am now running Ubuntu. Tried to instal steam, and after a few fixes from the forums, I got that working. Now to try to run TF2. Install Time: 6 days. welp. On the bright side, it appears that a few of my indie games also have linux builds already.

Hm. Well, it depends on how you want to take notes. If you want to type your notes, there might be some cheaper netbooks to look at. With Google docs, I find anything that can run a web browser will work, so there may be some inexpensive netbooks around. I believe you can import power-point documents as well. LibreOffice is also a nice alternative. Another option would be a tablet. The only issue is that most tablets (good ones anyway) fall a bit out of your price range. One thing that may/may not work are those digital pens- they record both the audio of your notes, as well as the physical notes themselves.

Minecraft Pi is essentially the Pocket Edition. I believe on their website they said it would be someone near a first-generation X-Box. So, yes, some light gaming would be possible.

Is gud. No, really, that's about it. I think it's rather impressive that they've gotten that much power down to that price. The specs are better than most smart phones, and seems to be a great step toward affordable computing. I like the educational spin as well. So, they're great for schools or just messing around, but I don't think it has enough power to be a main computer. Also, it would be good as a media center, but only with an external drive, or some sort of streaming service. I'm considering picking one up next time I have money.

Hmmm. I'd say CS:S. Just for mod support. I personally like the way guns handle in GO, though.
