Its Free to play. And in a good way so far.

The community is great. I think some of the anonymity helps, as there's so many people. I crashed a carrier once, we all just respawned and picked a different pilot, no problems. The people I went down with in the last story? They were a squad, and invited a few of the stragglers to join them afterwards. As far as I remember, they have groups called outfits, and we would DEFINITELY need one of those to stick together. I've been playing on the West server, but would the majority of you play on the East server? (US)

Forget the silly disclosure thing, I need to vent.I've played this for a good majority of today, and all I can say is that this game will take over the world once it is out. Seriously, its good. Its laggy, unoptimized, and bug ridden, but dang its fun. The scale is massive, like Far Cry 2 massive. Everything is fairly responsive for the most part, as far as connections go. I've said this many times, but it feels like war. Not like a fight, as in, "oh, we lost this base, gg." As in "We lost this base, fall back and we'll re-take it." You can't rambo it either. If you try to go and capture a base by yourself, your dead. even only two people increases your odds of succeeding.Best story of the day: Respawned at the "central hub," and went out to a waiting Galaxy (Its a dropship, fits like 12 people, and acts as a mobile spawn when landed.) I take a gunner seat, and we take off. About midway to where we're going, two New Conglomerate (rival faction) Reavers (basically the best planes in the game) start following us. We try our best, take one down, and wound the other. It turns away as three more take its place. Our pilot tries to land, and we all bail out just as our ship explodes. About half the crew survive. We regroup, and gun down the rest of the Reavers, then we storm a nearby base. We get a few wanderers along the way, and head over to help the rest of our faction capture a large stronghold. Long story short, we won. So, we will all be required to play this as soon as it hits Steam.

:( This makes me really sad actually.End of an era... -
I have one just for following people. Minecraft, Tf2, Planetside, ect. Also, don't feel left out yet: *spends the last two hours downloading the beta* *loads it up* *Gets ready to choose a server* LOCKED http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWaLxFIVX1s They apparently turn off the servers at night during the beta. Or something.

Eh, I don't think I've done one yet. Binary Level 01 Moderator. Appearance: Some guy with glasses and a computer strapped to his back. Weapon: Crowbar Attacks: Verbal warning: Does massive knockback, but very little damage. Multitask: Can create up to 10 clones that mimic the original. However, with each clone, movement speed and damage decrease. Hack: Temporarily take over any other player. Cannot move original during this time, and gains a 50% health boost. Procrastinate:Player casts a decoy of themselves a few seconds behind them. Mimics the movements of the real player, just after the fact. 50% less damage done while active. Final REP Smash: Sandy Statues: Drops large sand based versions of famous monuments randomly over the map. Statues remain after rep smash, but are destructible. Also equips the BanHammer after use.

*Cough*......... Ahhhh, who am I kidding, I don't have the free time for this. Or the pixel art ability. ........ Yep, totally not going to even attempt this... ......... ........ *gets to work on a fighting game engine which once 50% done never gets seen again.*

Ehehehehehehehe! My group of beta keys gets activated some time today!!! This makes me very happy. Also, to the poor and keyless, follow their twitter and request a key, they're handing them out like candy.
-
I'd be interested in seeing mine. where do you find that?
-
What is amazing is how the game has handled so well for so long. Name any other multiplayer game that has not just survived, but GROWN 5 years after release.

Every time I am the only one in the Gen room.

In a teamfight?Veigar I would use the slow (Its basically a ring of energy, that if they touch the sides they get stunned.), and then maybe just try to damage them as much as I can.Nasus I would certainly Ravage (It increases damage and slows them down), and pick off whoever is low on health.Vegar's more ranged, Nasus is mele.(I really hope this is helping. I'm stretching my knowledge as it is.)All in all, I basically need a burst damage range with a slow ability, or someone who works well with others.
-
I usually either solo in the mid lane with Veigar, or support with one of the side lanes as Nasus.Veigar is prrety much farm until someone is dumb enough to try to get within range of me, then i hit them with a stun and all my abilities.I usually use Nasus as a champion assist, with Ravage to pick off people.
-
To clarify, I meant DOTA heros :p
-
Alright. So after a friend of mine convinced me to try League of Legends, I've found out that I'm best either solo on mid with good burst damage, or as a support sharing a lane with someone else. Hero suggestions?

Throughout today, go ahead and join the SpufGaming chat if you want to Mann Up! We'll start whenever we get a group together.

I'd be fine just converting the fun server. It's fun every once and a while, and im sure we'll still organize similar events and such.

I felt like doing a bit of a public service, so I decided to compile a list of some of my favorite Free(ware) alternatives to most software. Photoshop:-Paint.net- Why I like it: Its powerful, and simple to use. Not quite a vector editor, its like MSPaint on steroids. Layers, alpha, unlimeted undo, filters, gradients, the whole nine yards. WinRAR:-7-Zip- Why I like it: Its free, and it gets the job done. Not much else to it. Microsoft Word:-LibreOffice- Why I like it: Oh snap. This is the one that gets everyone. "How can you not have MS Word?" Because I'm a cheapskate, that's why. Two things off the bat: Its not pretty, and its not super easy. There's no fancy ribbons or guides here. But, it can read and wright every file type imaginable, even MS word stuff. It can also export to PDFs, so that's useful as well. iTunes:-Songbird- Why I like it: Apple software has NEVER touched my hard drive. Ever. And its better this way. Nice, robust interface, easy sorting, and loads of good plugins on their site. Media Player:-VLC- Why I like it: This thing will run any video file type you throw at it. AVI, MP4, WMV, ect. Nice and lightweight too. Essential for anything under Windows 7. 3D Modeling:-Blender- Why I like it: I don't use it a ton, but this is the best out there. Audio Editing:-Audacity- Why I like it: Again, not pretty, but its nice for some light editing, and is also expanded a TON by plugins. So, um, ya, that's it for now. If anyone has any requests, feel free to ask.

This is the product of my past three days of work. Animations are horrible, anyone have some tips on how to make them a bit smoother?
-
I can do Monday as well. (I've come to terms with buying more tickets.)
-
I am so in.Never mind, someone did it already. We should still try it sometime, though.
-
I don't exactly feel like buying 6 more tickets, plus I can't do tomorrow.
-
ARRRRG. I want people to do more Mann Up missions so there's more bot-killer weapons, and thus the price will go down, so I can BUY ONE! I need mah strange bot wrench man.
-
Trust me, it is. Protip: Try not to think about it too much.
