Eh, I just liked having the soundtrack physically. Its got great artwork, and a comic (turret lullaby). Plus all the CDs look like cores. So the music's the same, but the sounds track's worth it. (For me at least)

Question: Would enchantress be a counter to ursa? I tried it once, and the swipes didn't seem to be effected by the slow.

ENTRY 3 Time: 1500 hours Location: En Route Date: 3/9/2013 Status: Nominal A bit delayed on this entry, mostly due only to my own laziness. I, however, have been able to have some very interesting conversations with a few passengers. Below are a few descriptions for later reference. I can never seem to remember people all that well, so I'm hoping this will assist me. Passenger 1: Male, Middle aged. Wears: Suits. Tells me that he is a business man, and won the ticket for free through a company drawing. A bit disgruntled that he must share his room, as he was promised a private car. We chat a bit about local politics, but not much more comes from it. Was interrupted by a phone call and had to excuse himself mid conversation. Passenger 2: Female, Elderly. Wears: Nothing out of the ordinary, but seems to like sweaters. Maybe I should check the heating in her car. Found her in the dining car, knitting while talking with another passenger. Says her ticket was actually a misprint, but was actually just traveling for the sake of it, so she figured our destination was as good as any. Generally cheery disposition, we talked about the scenery outside the car. She even promised to make me a scarf. Passenger 3: Male, Middle aged Wears: Conductor's hat and workman's clothes. One of the surprisingly numerous stowaways. (I need to get new security.) Claims to be a train conductor from Ireland, was trying to stop the rest of the stowaways when the train started moving. (Has apologized many times and promises to help out to earn his keep.) I took him on a tour of the train, then we discussed various topics. I had no car for him, so he shares a room with Passenger 1.

Best example I can think of is Dear Estcher. Turn off subtitles and a good pair of headphones, and its really immersive.

Technically Con Air did win, as the poll was earlier, so that's what we'll go with next week. I'll be home in a bit, hope to catch the stream. You'll have to let me know how the Netflix streaming goes.

Due to the fact that I did not have time to "rent" the movie, movie night has been postponed until next week. Sorry :/

What on earth is wrong with you people. Rootbeer is delicious. A drink second only to Green Tea. -
You: binry? what r u doin binry shap What??? I'm making a guide for newbies? But I hardly have played the game! How can I know everything, much less be able to help someone along? -I don't. However, this is a game that is vastly different from any other genre, and jumping right into it can be very confusing, frustrating, and stressful. Even the beginner's guides use terminology that is completely foreign to most players. So, here's my simple steps (from experience) on how to not run around like a sheep pig chicken with its head cut off. (Also, we can use this as a general repository for guides, feel free to post your own and critique mine.) OTHER GUIDES: Video Guide -Hertz Binary's Beginner Guide to DOTA 2. Part 1: Pre-Game. The first thing you'll notice when you first start DOTA is the Main Menu: http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/937008435169784223/D5772BC6361BD259B3576FD67EDDFE1BC98DC9BE/ Now, there's a few things you should familiarize yourself with first: The "Play" section is where you will go to well, play the game. You can either enter into a random game, or join or create a lobby here. Also very useful is the "Learn" section. It provides a run-down of all the heroes and items. So, you join a game. For this I'm setting up a private loby to mess around and take screenshots. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/937008435169781982/7E889B37876AC27D7AA59C80E6B546CFC35AD4D8/ After some loading, you are greeted with the Hero Selection Screen. Comes in Card Slider and Grid View. I prefer grid veiw myself. Now, I'm going to recommend some good Starting Heroes that you talk to someone else about what hero to pick, because I have no idea. Anyway, after you pick that, you begin playing. GAMEPLAY How To Navigate and Interact: Dota controls similarly to a RTS game. As such it can be very confusing unless you grasp one thing- YOU CAN CONTROL (Select) MORE THAN JUST YOUR CHARACTER. As such, left clicking on an enemy will give you information on them- health, items, ect. You can also control the courier (more later) and some heroes can create clones that you can control as well. So, left click is used as a selector, while right click is the action key. Right click on enemies to attack them, right click items to pick them up, ect. You can move the view by moving your mouse to the edge of the screen, the arrow keys, or clicking on the minimap. Starting a game. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/937008435169789240/CED6BB5C4592FB4180D8157111F8A1BD38A1F11B/ Now that you have chosen a hero, you must now choose items and abilities. As well as strategize with your team. The game gives about a minute to do this. Now, skill selection, laning, and items are all dependent on what hero you choose, so I won't even cover that. -What, what was all that? Lanes, heroes, items, what? Oh yes, lingo. Here's a few key terms: [*]Hero: You, your teammates, and your enemies. The "big guns" They are the center of the gameplay. [*]Creep: Team specific weak NPCs. The are found in the map, and running down the lanes to the enemies base. They are essential to victory, as the heroes must allow their creeps to advance to aid in defeating the enemies ancient. Killing enemy creeps will also be your primary source of gold and experience. [*]Skill: These are the "special abilities" that each hero has. They have 4. 3 common, and 1 alt. You use them by either clicking their icon in the bottom tray, or by pressing their hotkey. (QWER by default) [*]Ult: A usually very powerful skill that defines most heroes. Usually comes with a high cooldown or mana cost. [*]Lane: A cleared area of the map that creeps run down. Comes in three flavors: Top, Mid, and Bot. They are the Top, Middle, and Bottom lanes respectively. In an average game, you will have two people on top and bottom, and one person in the middle lane. Mid is generally reserved for the most money and xp hungry hero on a team. [*]Tower: Tall "Sentries/Turrets" These control the creep waves by dealing massive damage and having high health. It is a good idea to stick near them early game, as neither you or your opponent have the health to get near them and live. There is 2 to a lane, as well as a few inside your base. [*]Barracks: Later on in the game, once the two towers have been destroyed, you will come upon the barracks. destroying these is good. Don't ask me why. [*]Ancient: Destroying this wins the game. Generally accomplished once one lane has been completely cleared of buildings. [*]Gank: When a group of heroes gangs up on another to kill them. Usually done on important heroes found alone in a lane. [*]Ward: Used to remove the Fog Of War from a section of the map for a certain time. Usually one hero has the job of placing them. Usually at least placed near the runes. [*]Courier: Just what the name says. Your own little pach animal, carries stuff from your base to you. [*]Stash: When you buy an item not in the shop, it goes into your stash. This can be accesed when you are in your spawn, by you or a courier. Usually, you buy an item, load it onto the courier, and have it bring it to you. It is also a good idea to use your stash frequently, as you do not loose those items when you die. [*]Roshan: Really Strong creep. Hangs out in a cave on the Dire side of the map. killing it is usually a team effort. Drops a item that basically grants a second life. [*]Rune: Mini "power-ups" that spawn in 2 minute intervals in set places in the map. Can refill a bottle item, so press alt and click it to alert your team to it if you see it. If no one wants it, take it if you need it. [*]Feed: When you die, the person who killed you gets large amounts of XP. Dieing excessively is called feeding. Try to avoid it. [*]Farm: To gather XP and Gold in a lane by killing enemy creeps. You can only do this by getting last hits. Last hits are awarded when you deliver the killing blow on a creep. That's the basics, I recommend joining in a game with a few of us, or bot practice for a while. Also, take a look around the DOTA Wiki.
