  1. That seems like a lot of effort for a headhunter update. I'd say probably community update. I don't see why they get so much flak, I think it's a really neat idea.

Neat idea, but since when has one ever been GOOD?

I enjoyed Robotic Boogaloo. It has some of my favorite hats.

I don't expect a lot as far as gameplay changes, as that's stuff that Valve should do.

  3. Alright, it's about time I did this, but I'm gonna start Fallout 3. Installed a bunch of mods (weather, texture updates and an unofficial patch), and here we go. I played once ages ago, and made it about as far as megaton. Let's see where this goes.

But, how? Megaton is right outside the vault. It's like the first hub town in the goddamn game.

I can just imagine you finishing the tutorial, walking out of the vault, looking at the big metal settlement in front of you, walking towards it, seeing the "You have discovered: Megaton" text and then saying "Well, this was a good run."

And never fucking playing for 5 years.

And yet that's exactly what I did. (No really. Even the 5 years part.)

Aaaanyway, tales from the waistelande ep1:

I spent 3 hours getting the damn thing to run. Mods = crash, some mods = crash, no mods = crash. Then I tried running as an administrator. That worked for 5 minutes. Adding a dll went another 2.

Finally, to get it to run, I had to:

    • Run as administrator
    • add a dll
    • change the run priority
    • force single core in task manager
    • force single core in the ini
    • run in Win XP SP 3 mode

Finally running, I have escaped the vault, bought a room in Megaton, and am currently helping Whats-'er-face with a survival guide.

  5. And done

  6. same here, stock cpu fan makes whole case rattle at full chat

Is the case physically rattling? I had a case fan that was missing a blade that made mine shake. It's really bad for your components.

  7. I'd look at your fans if you're looking to reduce sound and airflow. Most cases that offer soundproofing sacrifice cooling for it.

Best way I removed noise was getting a water cooling loop for my CPU and a SSD.

  8. How easy is it to take all the parts out of one PC and chuck them in a new case? Anything specific I'd need to know?

    For what purpose?

Also not really, but its easiest and safest if you disassemble the old machine and rebuild it inside the new case.

It's important to make sure that the motherboard standoffs are the same, and that the cables all reach.

  9. Verdict after an hour or two: Pretty good. The contract thing added a nice little challenge, and got me to play some classes that I normally don't. New weapon skins look decent, I actually prefer the warn look. However, those should really be much cheaper for what you get out of them.

  10. I haven't played in, like, forever. There's been a few updates that brought me back, like MvM and MannPower. But it gets stale quicker and quicker each time, and there's more and more time between updates.

Honestly, I hope they do stop updates, just to put it out of its misery. The "whenever the hell its done but not bimonthly" comic is honestly shaping up as a nice sendoff. Add in the ranked mode, and a few more community maps, and say your done.

Then make TF3 in source 2 and start the cycle all over again.
