    Alright, so here's the skinny on webms.

     

    Apparently, the <video> html tag is not allowed for anyone. Like I cant even use it on a custom button. It's odd. Maybe a plugin or something, idunno. I'm out of options on my end. 

    For those of you that just were able to post webms, that was because I enabled straight html posting for the entire member group. That's a huge security risk and wont work. Sorry.

     

    Talking to cmdr to see what our options are.

    ​The forum autoembeds everything on the backend, so the most straight forward method would be to add a new autoembed for webms. I'm assuming you're still working entirely within the admin cp? There were a few forum addons (paid ones) that could do that if cmdr won't give you the forum code.

    ​That is exactly what I did.

     

    Like I said, this is as much as I can do. I'm currently looking at plugins.

    As you may have noticed, PHASE 1 has been completed! 

     

    Changelog:

    -Corrected issues with blueboh. Now named SPUFBlue

    -De-spooked Spookpowered. Now named SPUFOrange

    -New theme based on SPUFOrange, SPUFDark

    -Default theme also follows naming convention, as SPUFDefault

     

    Please note any issues or additional  corrections.

    Note that spookpowered remains enabled for Donators. Whenever we figure that out.

    AKA the "fix your shit binary" thread.

     

    I'm gonna have a decent bit of free time on my hands over winter break, and I intend to use that to fix all these little issues with the site and whatnot. 

     

    Starting with themes and webms. 

     

    To-Do:

    -Dank memes (webms)

    -Count beans (holla holla)

     

    To-DONE, SON:

    -Slick themes (ker blam)

    TO DONE, SON!

    So, first off: Themes. Apparently dark themes are shit. I wouldn't know, because lightspuf. But, I have had sucess with themes, and am now comfortable with IPB. First off, gonna make a de-spooked variant of spook-powered to replace the current one. Gonna fix bluebough. Maybe make some more variants from spokpowered. maybe even some new light themes too. (I've had 4 cups of coffee because of an 8 am final and I'm feeling really productive. your results may vary.)

     

    Webms: I will attempt every option within my power to get these working correctly. They work fine for mods, so idunno. We'll get there. Eventually. Maybe.

     

    IPB: Gonna see about getting the board updated to the latest version in hopes of saving myself some work and maybe get some features back.

     

    Let me know if you have any input of the above, or if there's anything else you want looked at.

    See, here's my problem with banning guns. It's practically impossible anymore. They have multiple-shot automatic guns that can be created in a 3D printer with nothing but a nail for the firing pin. 20 years ago? Maybe. Shut down the manufacture and sales and eventually they'll dwindle out. But now, within the next few years, they can have reliable firearms that are entirely untraceable and unregulated. Made in some basement or bunker. 

    So hypothetically we've banned civilian guns. That's great. But now we have an entirely unarmed, vulnerable populace. And then we have criminals who ARE armed, facing no resistance. (So it's better to train well-minded civilians on how to handle these items as a deterrence, as opposed to disarming everyone. But that's another discussion.)

    Not only that, but as mentioned here, there are other tools- bombs, knives, chemicals. Just because we take away guns doesn't mean that we are safe from all harm. If someone wants to do evil, they will find a way.
