Defense of the Ancients. Pretty much everyone knows, it's the core objective of the game.

I don't really agree with these. Skadi, whilst not really worth it other than for a superior looking attack projectile on most heroes works perfectly on Morph and I always pick is up as a fourth or fifth item; The stats it give are godlike for Morph since he can AGI morph much further and still feel comfortable so his base damage increases along with his EHP due to armor. It also makes it a million times easier to chase and screws people over with cold attack. Adding on to that, as you rightly said, Manta only benefits from stats which is exactly what you get from Skadi, and with only a little bit of Micro can throw the cold attack of Skadi on to three different people simultaneously EBlade is a so-so for me, I didn't really like getting it before 6.75 since at least a couple months back it was always a 20 minute job and I didn't like rushing 3K+ items with only Boots and a Aquila so there is definitely a bit of bias on my part but after the changes both to Morph AND EBlade it isn't a must have anymore, it's a lot harder to pull off and is extremely mana intensive now. Generally my static build before taking enemies into account is: Boots -> Ring of Health -> Aquila (assuming no Basilius in lane) -> Treads -> Perseverance -> Linken's -> Manta -> Butterfly -> Skadi -> Sell Aquila for Satanic

https://dotabuff.com/matches/62408897 Work on your last hitting. Generally when I'm playing a carry which is more often than not, I aim for 50cs by 10 minutes, 100cs by 20 minutes. It really helps to have a goal so that you know whether or not you're keeping up with the game's pace. Don't be afraid to practice last-hitting in lobbies either, it becomes a million times easier when you know precisely what damage you're going to do to a creep and when to predict the attack animation.

General Petraeus Betraeus His Wife
Facade replied to Just a Gigolo's topic in Current Events, News & Politics
Fair enough. Shouldn't he be able to hide it easy enough anyway, being director of the CIA and all? Though I guess the fact that we know his name proves he isn't very good at hiding things anyway right? -

So you thought you'd make a thread about it? -
If all new players played Tidehunter I'd be in heaven, Tide only needs two items; Arcanes and Blink. That's it, anything else is purely luxury, Drums, Pipe, Mek (but get this before Blink if that's the plan), Refresher, whatever. He is by far the easiest Initiator and is the biggest influence on any team to win a fight. Tide is also versatile in laning, he can solo well, works in the hardlane with someone else, can mid and is great in a Tri-lane. Anyway, how about an inhouse, just us guys? All-pick, naturally so you can all pick whoever you want and we can get some advice flying around since as great you think you all are, you're all still really new at the game, I am too but I've got a little bit more experience, It would probably have to be on the Weekend because of timezones unless we do it at around Midnight. Thoughts?

More from Circlejerk general after this brief video:

Skeleton King, Ursa, Phantom Lancer, Phantom Assasin, Lifestealer, Viper, Drow. Dust of Appearance, Sentry wards, Gem of Truesight, Slardar, Scythe of Vyse, Orhcid Malevolence (or any form of Silence) or a Ghost Scepter if you can activate it before he strikes.

Evasion suffers from Diminishing Returns, with just a Talisman your evasion is around about 37%, with a Butterfly around about 43%. If you do get a Butterfly however if gives you the ability to solo Rosh.

Mask of Madness is a purely situational item, that situation is that the enemy team has no burst at all, which isn't very common, otherwise you're just going to explode the second you turn it on. If you're using it to farm, don't. Work towards a Battlefury (or for a cheaper alternative, Maelstrom) and get Tranquil Boots instead of Treads until you have it. After Battlefury (or Maelstrom which you should turn into Mjolniir) get either Chrysalis then Daedulus, Assault Cuirass or MKB. After you have your farming too and your first big item, you can start contributing. If you're being burst down, get a BKB, without your Chronosphere, you're easily the easist to kill on your team, survivability is key, not damage. Big criticsms on this one. First off, never ever go bottle first. If I saw you went bottle first if I'm against you mid, I'd make sure to make your laning is a living hell. Bottle provides pathetic health regen and that is a must in lane. With regards to the Soul Ring, it is vital for Tinker, the mana it provides through activation allows you to do anything once more, and the fact that it also resets on rearm makes it 100% core on Tinker. Manta Style is completely redundant, if you aren't getting a Scythe of Vyse on Tinker, you aren't playing Tinker correctly. Manta give you 2 illusions that deal a low percentage of your already tiny right-click damage. Scythe of Vyse gives you the possibility to effectively permenantly lock someone out of a clash with Sheep -> Rearm -> Sheep etc.

When you queue with multiple people, it takes all of your MatchMaking Ratings, averages them and adds to it. Maybe because of the lack of Hertz in that game you were queued with people that weren't better due to not being dragged up by Hertz.

More people here, more people to join in on the crushing realization of loneliness.

A hero who has a passive that cleaves in a massive radius for full damage to everyone hit every 4 seconds at level 4, so he hits one unit and every unit in an AOE in front also gets hit and the damage doesn't take into account armor. A full build Kunkka that gets a critical hit from an attack in the right position can essentially one shot the entire team with one blow. A lot of new players think it's OP because it's arguably the best type of harass in the game, though it pushes the creep wave like crazy so it's best to have him mid or in a lane meant for kills rather than farm.

Medusa is in WC3 Dota, yet to be ported over here. Faceless Void: Built in Stun that has a chance to proc with every hit, can use his ultimate to kill someone before a fight even starts leaving fights as 4/3 v 5 Phantom Lancer: can easily have 30 illusions of himself in a group late game to push towers or farm, and a good player will never be in that group. Illusions only so a percent of your damage but stacked to x30 can hit really hard, can solo anyone with full build except maybe full build Kunkka. Lone Druid: Has a possible 12 Item slots due to the bear having an independent inventory so a full build 12/12 inventory Lone Druid is completely unstoppable but the chances of the game lasting that long is near impossible, 70+ minutes at least. Spectre: Dispersion reduces damage she takes whilst redistributing it to enemies around her, as most AGI carries will have very low life until they get a HoT later on, if they try to attack her, chances are they'll do more damage to themselves than you do, funnily enough if you ever managed to have 5 times as much health as your enemy (which would require 3+ HoT), you wouldn't have to attack them whilst they attacked you and they'd still kill themselves before they killed you.
-
Medusa, who isn't in the game yet, Faceless Void, Phantom Lancer, Spectre and Lone Druid all share that spot, who would win afterwards would depend on the skill of the player, not taking into account the other 4 players.
