Being as laid back and uncaring as I am, don't give a shit whether you watch it or not, I've started to play more Dota with the guys from MLM thanks to Wulff and they're all great, likewise, I'll happily play/talk/befriend, whatever, with people that hate MLP fans with a burning passion. I've seen so many disputes all around the internet and through completely un-biased eyes, MLP fans seem to produce the strongest arguements (for reference of this post MLP fans will be referenced as "Bronies" and MLP haters will be referenced as "Anti-bronies".) Probably the most common arguement used by the Anti-bronies is that the show's target audience is (or was) aimed for small children, and more for girls rather than boys and the fact that grown men are watching and becoming so attached to the show is unnatural, childish and in some cases seen as perverted. Chances are, these are the same people that believe male children should be playing with action-men whilst female children should be playing with Barbies. Now fair enough, from what I've seen, the show definately used to be aimed at children, but Lauren what'sherface has clearly altered the show to suit an older audience with things like the Metal Gear Solid reference and others I'm not aware of, whilst also catering to the younger audience with all the shit they were doing before. The counter-arguement to this is that just because it's about ponies, doesn't mean that it is automatically for young girls (which technically speaking, is correct. There's nothing about horses/ponies that suggest effiminate affiliation, is that even makes sense) and that the light-hearted mischief and lessons it teaches can act as escapism from the harsh reality of the real world, which most people seem to have one way or another, be it through anime, MLP or vidya games. Then there's the fact that a small group of the fandom seem to get off to the characters (and I'm sure the majority of us know about those Onahole plushies that seem to be floating around) which seems to be assumed to be much bigger than it actually is. But at the end of the day, wank to whatever the fuck you want, you don't get to choose your fetishes, they choose you; So to speak. The one thing I don't understand about the fanbase is however, which I've never seen with any other fanbases is how much you apply the fandom to pretty mucheverything, it's become the case where pretty much every single game now has MLP crossover art, be it a simply the box art or a complete version with characters replaced with ponies (as can be seen on Skye's Final Fantasy something thread). Man, this post is not structured whatso ever, I pretty much just typed my what came to mind putting no real effort into it, just thought I'd leave my thoughts on at least one of these thread, even if it doesn't really have much to do with the OP.
