Take a Cautionary Sip. I'm Hot.
Stackbabbin' Bumscags replied to IcedCappuccino's topic in New Users and Introductions
I throw cream and sugar in my coffee. Mainly because I dislike the bitterness, recently I've taken a liking to just getting a caramel latte at Dunkin' Donuts. As long as they don't give me Coffee of the Void, at least. I swear that's still the strangest fucking thing I've ever gotten. Coffee that did not taste. I ordered a dark chocolate caramel mocha, received mocha, sip, stare in confusion. Sip again. Hand cup to mother and ask her what the fuck. We both agree that this "mocha" tasted like nothing. It had no flavor, not even coffee flavor. Sugar did nothing, didn't even taste sweet. Week or so later. Order my caramel latte. Tastes like nothing. Brain shatters. BLEGH. Decaf is an abomination against nature! :nuuu: -

If only I could have coffee a bit more often. I get most of my caffeine through sodas, but coffee is just sooo tasty. Unfortunately I only get about 2-3 cups a week thereabouts. -

I think you're overshooting that number there, Brain. Try somewhere in the 15-20 range. -
Cervat Yerli of CryTek "Single-player should be online single-player."
Stackbabbin' Bumscags posted a topic in Current Events, News & Politics
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/03/01/yerli-single-player-games-must-be-online-single-player/ No. Just... No. CryTek is also releasing their own social platform called "GFace" that will focus on their Free2Play games they're coming out with. -
Oh god that's just too fucking cute. I love Karkat's face.

Greenland has become Plague Inc's Madagascar, solely because it's so bloody difficult to get into. Greenland only has 1 port, and only 1 specific port sends boats over to Greenland, it's usually one of the last countries to be infected. Speaking of Pandemic, I'm gonna make another forum game of the Pandemic Board game. If anyone would like to sign up, y'all can do so in the thread when it's up.

On the non-uberspecial Plague types, you want to build up your Infectivity before you build up Lethality, however anything that bumps up your Severity means that you will get spotted sooner or later, even if you get just Coughing and Sneezing. On Non-Virus and non-Brutal difficulties, you can "Devolve" evolutions that your plague Mutates (When you get the message "Symptom Mutated"). Doing this for any mutations will not increase its cost, and, to boot, will give you 2 DNA Points. Once you have infected everyone on the entire planet, you usually have a good amount of DNA Points, about 80+. Sell off your Transmission methods, you won't be needing them anymore since everyone's sick, and to quickly raise Lethality, you can go the Coughing -> Pneumonia -> Pulmonary Fibrosis -> Total Organ Failure route. Also, some Symptoms make you harder to cure, Paralysis, Insanity, and Coma Symptoms make any existing Cure Research Progress go down by a few percent. Insomnia makes people less productive, which will slow down research just a tad bit I usually start in Madagascar, since it's a poor nation, meaning it's easier to infect without worry of healthcare, and I get both Water 1 and Air 1 and usually Birds 1 in the Transmissions section. If you've paid the $0.99 for it, you also gain access to the Speed Up function, which is quite handy., one thing that's made my life easier is the ability to insert genes into my plague to give me extra advantages. There are also a number of Symptom Combinations that can possibly help you, like the Public Defecation above. Oops: Sneezing + Diarrhea: Lowers productivity and increases awareness Profuse Bleeding: Hemophilia + Skin Lesions: Infectivity++ Projectile Vomiting: Coughing + Vomiting: Infectivity Public Defecation: Diarrhea + Insanity: Increase Research Speed Swine Flu: Nausea, Pneumonia, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Coughing, Sneezing, Insomnia, Paranoia, Livestock 1 & 2: Decrease Research Speed (10% increase in budget required for cure) Walking Dead: Anemia + Insomnia: Decrease Research Speed Symptom Combos are irreversible, once you've gotten one, it's there for the rest of your game, but you've only got a chance of one popping up, so it's not like you're constantly doomed to get Public Defecation every time.

The Neurax Worm can apparently be unlocked by beating all Plague types on Brutal difficulty. I, however, have not even gotten past Nano-Virus, not even on Easy. =/

I always loved it when Aranea went into deeper explanations. Aside from her being so adorable, it's always refreshing to see a troll acting reasonably and rationally. Her intelligence makes her amongst one of my favorite trolls.

Some Piracy Shit In The U.S
Stackbabbin' Bumscags replied to Guy923's topic in Current Events, News & Politics
Subscription fees make sense in that you're guaranteed to get X amount from a single customer in a month no matter how many times they visit your site. People dislike advertisements and some don't know about adblocking software, so if they pay the subscription fee, they get no advertisements, and possibly even some extra content the provider may throw in as well. So, say you put in a $15/mo subscription fee, for every viewer that subscribes, you're guaranteed to get $15/mo from them. Usually you're dependent on advertisements, so you have a possibility of getting $15/mo from a single viewer if they visit your site often and depending on how much you get per ad view/click. Would you like the possibility of getting $15/mo from a single viewer? Or the guarantee that you're getting $15/mo from that viewer? In short: Site gets paid, viewer gets no ads, both are happy. -
Some Piracy Shit In The U.S
Stackbabbin' Bumscags replied to Guy923's topic in Current Events, News & Politics
Well, would you care to point out how I'm wrong instead of doing your usual "Well you're just wrong"? And I never was trying to justify piracy, because this isn't piracy. If you'd sit for a second you'd realize I was actually countering Raz's claims that adblock = piracy/theft. -

Stackbabbin' Bumscags replied to Guy923's topic in Current Events, News & Politics
Nobody here is saying that they deserve stuff for free, but we're not obligated to do anything when it comes to a free service. I use adblock, but for webcomics that I follow and subSPUF, I have mine set to not run on those sites. But that doesn't suddenly make it theft for me to do anything with adblock on (Like Razputin is arguing). Nobody's thinking that they're "special" (However you define that word.). -

And this they knew when they decided to host a free service. If they wanted to make some sort of profit off of the service then they should put a subscription fee on it. Otherwise, nothing illegal. -

I'm not arguing semantics if you're simply just using these words plain wrong. That still doesn't make it theft, and that still doesn't make it piracy. You have no argument. -

I know that, but what he is defining as "theft" is not theft at all. Nothing is being stolen. Nothing is being copied. The only thing that is happening is that I am viewing free content that is freely available to everyone on the internet, but choosing to opt out of viewing advertisements using adblocking software installed on my internet browser.
