His Justices are going to overturn same-sex marriage as soon as a case gets accepted to the Supreme Court challenging it. He's got a climate-change denier as the head of the fucking Environmental Protection Agency, an absolute moron who could be Secretary of Education or Secretary of Health and Human Services, and the list goes on! So, from the bottom of my heart, in the deepest pits of hell itself, Thank you for fucking over half this country based on absolute bullshit.

And if we're going to get technical about this, Republicans have only achieved a half-victory, the Electoral College hasn't actually cast their ballots yet. And the fact that the Republicans completely dominate our government fucking terrifies me, because our system of checks and balances is no longer going to be balanced. The Democrats only have the power of the filibuster on their side, and there's only so much that can do, though it did help with delaying a Supreme Court appointment for 8 fucking months, the majority was just refusing to deliberate, thank you Republicans.

And why would you expect Dems to just roll over and accept it when Repubs spent the entirety of Obama's presidency being obstructionist and otherwise doing much of the same thing that's happening now?

If we have to keep the Electoral College, that's at least a better way of having it operate, the "winner take all" for Electoral Votes is utter bullshit. However I still think it's an out-dated system that just needs to be retired.

The electoral college has no real use now that we don't have to wait weeks (barring recounts) for election results. When we were still using only paper ballots that were counted by hand, it had its purpose, but with electronic voting, we can get results in a single day.

Some of them were threatening full on armed rebellion if Trump lost.

And the Voter Rights Act being overturned didn't help anything to deal with the low voter turnout. Because it was overturned, there were over 800 fewer polling places across the nation, and some states enacted stricter restrictions, which resulted in hundreds of thousands of people in Wisconsin alone being unable to vote. Who knows just how many people were either turned away or discouraged from voting because of these newer restrictions.

Considering the hate generally seems to come from religious groups, the number of churches does matter to me. Congratulations, you found a group of churches that aren't garbage, but there's no guarantee that any of the ones I live near are safe.

And yet I live in the portion of the US where anti-LGBT+ sentiment is the highest. That 55% nation-wide acceptance of same-sex marriage means jack shit, especially since I live in an area where there are about 3 different churches within 1 mile of my house, and expanding the radius to even 5 miles, the number increases to 7 churches.

When I was in middle school and hadn't even really figured out my own sexuality, I had kids calling me queer and faggot in the hallways. Kids I never even talked to, some I never even had classes with. I had my own physical safety threatened multiple times during that period. Call me paranoid all you want, but it's justified.

"Don't let fear control you" That's easy to say when you don't have a target painted on your forehead and back. I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow, and I'm pretty nervous about going out, what with living in the middle of the bible belt.

Hillary would have largely been a continuation of the status quo, some stuff might have changed, I don't think it'd be anything drastic. Trump would pretty much upend many systems we have set here in the US, and then can very easily dick over international diplomatic relations.

Support for celebs is completely different from your entire government being run by the party with the most anti-lgbt platform they've run in recent history. We're also talking about a Supreme Court Justice appointment here, which is now guaranteed to be a Trump nominee because the Republicans will block Obama until he's out.

The government is completely dominated by the Republican party. They have a majority in both the Senate and House of Representatives, and Trump has won the election. I'm actually afraid.

That's the part that pisses me off about Florida the most.
