Two random things: Part of me hopes they do a Kanto re-remake. It will be entirely possible for pokemon caught/bred in the original Hoenn to be used in the new Hoenn. This makes me inordinately happy.

The general strategy I saw was: Scolipede as the starter, uses Iron Defense then Baton Pass ; Espeon with Magic Bounce prevents roars and such, giving him time to calm mind up (and generally has stored power for a sweep option); Vaporeon can make very large substitutes with a lot of HP investment; etc
