a few days ago I had a "run" in which the very first FTL jump I made from the starting position put me in a pirate ship ambush with a drone and a teleporter and I just got absolutely destroyed you'd think it wouldn't be that hard to have SOME sort of difficulty curve, I mean BoI has RNG up the ass as well but it does get progressively harder

after playing a few rounds I realize FTL is a lot like pokemon; there's some real interesting strategy beneath the surface, but luck plays such a large element in it that the strategy part gets diminished a lot. Add to that that a lot of important things don't get explained very well and a lack of difficulty curve and you get a lot of lost potential. I'd want to see an FTL2, so the creators of the game have had some experience

the subs versus dubs debate is one of those things the internet can get really worked up about. Personally I prefer subs, but some animes are really recommended to be watched dubbed (most notable Baccano! which is glorious but has some of the worst Engrish ever) Speaking of Engrish, it's always very embarassing if I want to show someone my favorite movie of all time, Paprika. There isn't a single word of Engrish in there except at the very, very beginning, the very first sentence said in the film, which just makes me crigne every time I hear it ITS THE GUREATEST SHOWTIME!

I've gotten into the Emerald Battle Frontier again mostly playing Battle Factory, although I occasionally get motivated to train up a good Tower team but then I remember what an awful drag breeding is and I give up again

Zone actually was one of the assisting artists for Skullgirls I'm also starving to play some SG but it's just too hot here right now and online makes me lag like crazy

I really feel like starting a new, casual deck but there really isn't anything right now that I could try to build without spending an asston of money. Something control-ish, probably. I'm thinking about breaking up my Urzatron control deck because it's just kind of boring to play with and ironically too strong for my playergroup

for now I'd only say tf2 but civ5 will definitely get added to that roster once this ridiculous heat subsides

So I've been trying this game out it's pretty fun but occasionally awful at explaining what in God's name you're supposed to do I was fighting some ship when my weapons and FTL drive stopped charging and I still don't understand why. They were both at full health, I had enough fuel and rockets, enough energy, and I had to just sit and watch my ship slowly get destroyed because I had no clue of what was going on. Cloaking Devices, Enemy Spawners and weapon upgrades don't get explained at all either but were easy to figure out after a bit of trial and error

Today in "how to be a terrible person" I was on some random server defending Dustbowl final. We lost the first point in a matter of seconds, so I decided to go Medic. Together with a decent Demo and Soldier we managed to hold the final point for the full twelve minutes... ...and in the last thirty seconds the admin, on the opposing team, scrambles, claiming that the teams were unbalanced. He then kicks two players who call him out on it.
