Had the prerelease yesterday, went pretty good and I won two boosters. I chose Boros as my guild and got Azorius as my hidden guild, which was exactly what I had hoped for. I wouldn't say spec ops is a middle finger to modern fps. After all, it is a modern fps itself it does really get its message through though, and is just a great story on its own

Finished Spec Ops [spoiler2]I kind of saw the ending coming because I collected a lot of the Intelligence, which make it pretty obvious Konrad has been dead for quite some time. I picked the best least bad ending (shoot Konrad, surrender to the troops) and I read the other four endings, and am happy with my choice as it is the best one in my opinion. All in all it was a very well done story, I won't forget this game for a long time. The hallucinations were really unnerving and the piles of corpses really left an impression. What I also really "liked" were the grim messages that occasionally got between the hints during loading screens: "this is all your fault", "you are still a good person" and "do you feel like a hero yet?" can cut really damn deep with such a sudden fourth-wall breaker. I'd expect that anyone who's into gunwank games would feel lincredibly depressed after playing this.[/spoiler2]

Spec Ops has indeed redeemed itself in the story aspect I haven't finished it yet but it gets really interesting later on

this never aired in Europe so I never saw it but I've heard a lot about it that's pretty funny. At least it shows they're planning on giving attention to the older audience as well

The best part was that somehow I managed to contiuously dominate Pete-themed people but never dominated a non-Pete, and I had four at the same time at several points. So I've been playing Spec Ops: the Line and Antichamber lately I'm not really sure about Spec Ops yet. So far it has been a very stereotypical shooter with all the checks on the CoDlist bar QTE's. I can already see that it's more built on character development and story though, which I like. Still, can a good story make up for mediocre gameplay? Antichamber is balls to the walls crazy awesome btw
