Yeah I get that, lawyers will be lawyers But it's the same with the 20% off thing: what stores sometimes do, is crank up the price of their products for a short time, then advertise 20%-off prices by going back to the original prices. Obviously this is against the law, but it is very debatable about where fake advertisement starts in such a situation. The same could be said about Christmas advertisement -
Animal Suffering/Rights - Opinions?
Razputin replied to Expresate's topic in Current Events, News & Politics
Nearly all organisms have distress, even bacteria, plants, and fungi. Debatable. Advanced animals all feel pain: it isn't quite clear for small animals like bugs. Some scientists still argue about the definition of pain. Dolphins and some apes have some form of consciousness, and it is suspected in elephants and dogs. None really come close to our extreme form of consciousness. But honestly, this subject is less about science and more about ethics. In my humble opinion, animal suffering is only justified if: 1. it is for the good of mankind 2. there aren't any other options 3. the suffering is made as minimal as possible So with more discreet examples: eating meat is fine as long as the animals didin't suffer extensively, pharmaceutical testing is allowed if no other tests are possible, and cosmetic testing should not be allowed on animals. -
My pinnacle of hax bullshit still comes from Pokemon Battle Revolution stadium with Fog. I use 100 acc moves trice, and miss trice. My opponent hits three consecutive Sheer Colds in a row. gg, no re.

Promising stuff in your advertisement that isn't true is illegal: if you say you're having a sale, but simply put 20%-off stickers on everything without actually changing the price, you can get sued. With the same logic, one could argue that saying "it's almost Christmas" when it isn't even December yet is false advertisement. -

Aren't there laws against super-early Christmas advertisements? I mena if you're shouting Christmas sale a month before Christmas it's technically false advertisement -

Here in the Netherlands we get it twice in a row: First Sinterklaas, then Christmas. I don't mind the old classic songs, but all those catchy upbeat remixes seem so out of place they just make me feel embarassed for the producers. -
Didn't come out outside of Japan isn't that good Is very good but multiplayer only. and has lost a lot of respect due to mannconomy they are

I haven't posted in this thread yet because I haven't had any Christmas-issues so far. However, today I was at a mall. Why do people insist on remixing old classic Christmas songs into upbeat "hip" dance music? -
The latter, silly Sillerd McSillerd

My point was more that so why bother?

This is a nice thread for this Can anyone explain to me the purpose of idle servers? And why are there people who donate to them so they can always get a slot?
-
Yeah they are Portal cane out in 2007, and Wind Waker in 2002 (in Japan that is, 2003 in Murrica)
-
Have you ever seen a RBY speedrun? They always get a Blastoise, Gengar and Pidgey: Gengar and Blastoise have amazing type coverage together, and Pidgey is just there for Fly.

Get it. Honestly, most of the games on that list are already worth the price of the entire bundle
-
Deus Ex is from 2000, and thus isn't from this decade. Granted the PS2 version came in 2002, but >console ports It is a pretty well-thought-out list, if you ask me. Even Wii Sports I can sort of understand because of the big avaliability it had, and the first game with that much focus on motion control.

If I want to fuck around, I go to rocketblast koth only If I want to put in a little bit of effort, I go to the Reddit Europe server: nocrits, great mapvote and rotation, and a fun community with very decent skill level I kind of want to visit the spufserver a bit more as well

I think it deserves its own topic My personal winners: Action: Badwater Bebop The Action category was amazing in general, really. I didn't really like "the Chase" that much, but the other three were all badass as hell. Those suits in "Electric Bugaloo" were incredibly original and looked great, but in the end "Badwater Bebop" is my favorite for having the best fighting choreography and putting the Scout in the lead for once. Replay: Monster Kill Honestly the Replay catogory was very bad in my opinion. A Taunt kill, a kill during a taunt, a silly suicide and a clearly set up situation. At least "Monster Kill" was a clever idea, though. Comedy: Wishmaker Comedy had some great entries. "Meet the Saxton" was mediocre but got a good laugh out of me with the Leonardo Da Vinci reference, "Sabotage" was really clever and "Practical Problems" is not only very funny but had incredibly impressive body language. "Wishmaker" still won for me because of the incredibly impressive voice acting, though. Drama: Till death do us part TF2 is a very bad medium for drama and I didn't really like this category that much. "Bad Medicine" had incredibly impressive animation bu that was about it, "Story of a Sentry" has been done to death, "I Dream of Electric Creeps" was original but was way too slow-paced and rather pretentious. "Till Death do us part" was too melodramatic, but really pulled itself together halfway and turned to some good action with a sad undertone, which is the best you can get out of TF2. Overall Winner: Practical Problems "Practical Problems" had the best choreography, was very well-written and managed to tell a story without using any voices. It had good action and was very funny and managed to keep up the quality for the entirety of the five minutes. Definitely the best overall.
