Adventures in having a WiiU -I'm super surprised how much I ended up loving the gamepad. Whenever I was at a friend's house playing with it it just seemed completely useless but now with my WiiU set up next to my bed it's super comfy just playing on the gamepad. -Wonderful 101 is super great but as Halibut said the game is really bad at explaining things which gets frustrating. If you die and choose to continue you start from exactly the place where you died which makes finally beating it super unsatisfying, and if you choose not to you have to go through several loading screens to get back into it again. Also BUY UNITE MORPH GUTS YOU NEED IT TO BEAT THE FIRST STAGE BUT THEY NEVER TELL YOU THAT -Tropical Freeze I only picked up because of several recommendations, I never played DK before. And boy is this game fun and surprisingly difficult at times, I love it. DK and crew are goofy as fuck and the levels and music are amazing, especially 3-1 which is this african savannah themed lion king-esque celebration of life and damn it's gorgeous -I'm actually not liking smash 4 much at all. I was just annoyed with the awful controls for the 3DS version and expected it to be a lot better once the game wasn't actively trying to break my hands but still it's just... eh. The stages are way too goofy to have fun on even when playing casually with friends, you have to watch out more for the stage than for the players themselves. And when playing serious business mode it seems more campy even than brawl was; it's always the best option to not attack and only respond to your opponent's attacks, it's dull. On top of that, compared to brawl and even melee the game has just so little content

​Wonderful 101 is a great Platinum game, that does a terrible job at explaining how to play it. As such, it can be frustrating until you learn/lookup the controls/tech, but once you do it's a blast to play and oozes Saturday morning cartoon charm. It's one of my favorite platinum games. Also I too have Splatoon. ​Yup that matches my experience pretty well. I played it for two hours yesterday but ended up getting frustrated because I didn't really know what I was doing. I also unlocked some new dodge move that would've been REALLY useful but I couldn't find out where it said how to actually do said move Ive been getting around pretty well stunning with the group attack then mashing away with the sword but from the way the enemies are presented I feel like I should be doing something else: there is this one tank-like enemy that's invulnerable from the front and when they let me fight two at a time I just kinda gave up

Im considering buying a new console but the options are all so meh right now I really want to play the MGS games and PS3 has the legacy collection plus demon's souls but that's about it PS4 has bloodborne and that's about it (why is this thing not backwards compatible ffs) WiiU has a few things I want, mostly bayo and W101 but there is not really a bundle for it that I like

Today was a strange day in universityland. I scheduled a meeting with someone I could maybe do my master's thesis; I had never seen him before as our communication had only been through email. So I come over there ten minutes early expecting some kind of professor, and right on time a colourfully dressed bald-headed dudebro in his late 20s carrying his foldable bike and wearing fucking 3D glasses comes in and introduces himself as the guy I had been emailing with He showed me a really interesting fMRI study (that used 3D glasses which explains a lot) and I'm really tempted to do it. It's a fuckton of work though and I'm not sure if I can get all that done in only one year's time.
