    EDIT: I watched 32 episodes of anime in a single sitting yesterday with a friend of mine... My mind feels pretty fried at the moment.

     

    What was it that required 32 episodes straight

     

     

    Didn't require it, just sorta happened.

     

    Was introducing him to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, needless to say, he quite enjoyed it. We ended up watching 20 more the following day (leaving us at having seen 50 episodes over the course of ~ 28 hours) and we're going to watch the last 14 episodes this Wednesday.

    So would you recommend one to watch it? I was keeping an eye on Genei Wo Kakeru Taiyou when it was airing, because I liked Madoka a lot and like you said, it seemed to share some similarities. But if it is literally just Madoka 2.0 with a shittier plot composition, then nah.

     

    What would you rate it out of 10?

    I originally wrote this chapter without believing I'd be posting it this quickly. I wrote it to experiment with a different writing style. I . . . don't know if I like it yet. I do like that its a little bit more descriptive as well as longer, but something feels off at the moment.

     

    Descriptive and longer is good. Obviously if you don't like it yourself, it is an issue when writing it, but I think it is nice to read. Helps paint the picture.

    Tsundere is up there for me as well. Preferred those when I was starting with the whole anime shenanigans, but Tsundere is probably the most common female stereotype in anime along with the "childhood friend". I don't enjoy watching some slut get all huffy and puffy about something trivial quite as much as I enjoy a crazed bitch murdering people with an axe for doubting the love between her and whoever she has her eyes set on

    For whatever reason I seem drawn to those :<

     

    I like those as well. Deconstruction anime (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Maria Holic, Berserk etc.) are anime that "deconstruct" a typical setting within the medium, in Madoka's case: The Magical Girl setting. Sometimes they're fucking awful to watch in a way, because everything goes horribly, horribly wrong (Madoka, NGE, Berserk) and everything is just suffering and mindfuck. Other times it just takes a completely different turn, but not necessarily a turn to the depraved (Maria Holic).

     

    I find it very interesting to see which direction they turn to.

     

    Also, Yandere is my favourite character type (When they're done well) and a lot of Deconstruction anime have characters that to an extent go a little bit Yandere'ish

    I can't remember too much about it, but I remember liking it.

     

    Some other ones are Kore Wa Zombie no Desu Ka (and KWZNDK of the Dead) which was one I watched forever ago (probably going to rewatch and then go for the second season) and Nichijou.

     

    Most likely already know about those, though. 

     

    Isn't Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka an ecchi-type show?

     

     

    So I finished watching some anime lately.

    Cowboy Bebop - Very good, really enjoyed this one. Great music, very good dub.

    Black Lagoon - In basics sounds simmilar to Cowboy Bebop, but feels and is completely different. Darker, more brutal, you almost feel dirty inside while watching. At least in first season, which is actually makes it great. Second was not that great, it felt it was more about shootings, explosions and boobs than first one. There is nothing wrong in these things, but this was not series main strenght. Roberta blood trail is great thou, as good as original series. And Rock as cold mastermind was one of best things there.

     

    Bebop is great, literally my favourite anime of all time (series anyway). Haven't seen the dub, but I hear a lot of people sing praise to Steve Blum as Spike Spiegel.

    Honestly, there is quite a few good looking shows this upcoming season, unlike last season in which I could only point out 2-3 shows that I was interested in watching.

     

    Coppelion (Manga is really cool)

    Kyoukai no Kanata (KyoAni does it again?)

    Kill la Kill (Based Trigger)

    Strike the Blood (Could be shit)

    Gingitsune (Could be boring, but I doubt it)

    Samurai Flamenco (Did you read the synopsis?)

    Koroshiya-san: The Hired Gun (Potential to be hilarious)

    Galilei Donna (Could be shit)

    Hajime no Ippo: Rising (If you watched the previous seasons of Ippo anyway)

    Kaguya-hime no Monogatari (Ghibli, yes!)

    Madoka Magica: Hangyaku no Monogatari (New Madoka Magica content!!! Even though it won't be translated for a while for us non-nipponese people)

    Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.

    Higurashi, isn't it that horror/mystery one? I usually don't like horror, but I know several people who give Higurashi a lot of praise. I may just have to bump it up on my to-watch list.
