Finished "Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya". THAT was something else. Series was excellent, thou just the concept of it is bizzare. But for me, it was only a setup for movie. Movie completely overshadows series, thou discussing it would be hard without spoiling whole plot. I have really hard time collecting thoughts on this one. I probably could split this into characters, story, music etc. sections, but I don't think it would give the series justice, since it feels like more than the sum of of all those things. Therefore it's down to my ultimate question when I want to recommend: would I watch it again? Answer is: yes, more than fucking once. Now, ever important question: sub or dub? I say: dub, for one reason - guy voiceacting Kyon hits the ball out of the park on that one. And since you hear him quite a lot troughout the series, that's kinda important. Except one episode. "Live Alive" must be watched subbed, whatever happens. Otherwise songs in this one are not up to standard. Oh, and recomended watching order is 2009 release one.

So at this point everyone knows how much I like GitS, but I never bought any anime related merch, figurines etc. Apparently I am too practical person to justify to myself throwing money on dust collector. Quake Live has always been far from perfect. Browser client for hardcore arena FPS? Was someone high? Like it would be cool as option, with standalone client for everyone else. Finished Psycho-Pass. While pacing, animation, overall writing was great and music was good, preety unexpected plot twists, OPs were fantastic (especially second one) and solid EDs, I gave 2 gripes with it. First, secondary characters don't get as much development as they deserve. Hell Yayoi feels like glorified cardboard cutout, even thou she got her own episode. I would like to see such episode for Kigari or Masaoka, those could add to their characters greatly. Other thing is while it all is fine and dandy, it still feels like something is missing. This special thing you can't put your finger on, the x factor. Thou, second season is coming soon, and hell, first one will get is rerelease with about 220 minutes of additional content from what I heard, so it's all fixable. And I for one will be happy to come back to this series later on.

Not Halo fan, I don't see enough value in one big rerelease and buying system that has issues with having anything worth while to play on it. I had privilage of playing CS:GO in it's beta and if it hasn't changed since, I'm still not a fan of that either. But that's only my biased opinion since I'm fan of original CS 1.6. So neither. If you want my recomendations for online multiplayer FPS I'd go with Blacklight: Retribiution. It's F2P, so you can give it a bash and drop it if you don't like it.

Fucking casuals. First time I watched Gurren Lagann I dug trought entire series in 24 hours, with both movies. Who needs sleep, when you can watch TTGL. In other news, I watched some OVAs recenlty. Both The Cockpit and Area 88 are aircraft themed and old, with characteristic 80's artstyle. I wrote already about later Area 88 series. Comparing the two, only animation quality is better in series. Script, characters, things that really matter OVA does a lot better. What area 88 is again? Basicly, you follow along story of best pilot of Aslan foreign legion, and see glorious F-8 Crusaders, F-4 Phantoms, F-5 Tigers and other old NATO fighers annihilate shitload of MiGs. In short, Top Gun the anime. The Cockpit is a bit different. It is series of not connected with each other stories, based in WW2. Also, very 80's artstyle, like REALLY 80's. Overall interesting, but not much to write home about.

It's interesting noone mentioned GTA 4 being only game from series that made it to the list. Like, c'mon everyone knows Vice City was better.
