I'm beginning to actually believe that if SC was given a taunt that you hold down that drains metal and generates a projectile zap-field (maybe a little larger than right now?) would be a creative fix and out of taunting just make it have the silly little pseudo-flamethrower that it is now with no projectile zapping

My gripe with the diamondback is you can use it exactly like the stock revolver and do equally well to far better with it It needs something to give it its own style of play or its own niche, because there's very little reason to use the revolver over it (15% damage is NOT enough when you get triple damage + no falloff for DOING YOUR JOB) Back when it just got crits from buildings it had a clear niche: use when you're playing against engies (specifically gunslingers) and admittedly the niche was INCREDIBLY SMALL but now you can run it 24/7 without much penalty, provided you click on a back or two while you're playing.
