Det's hard to do with sight, I'm pretty sure most of the people who are good with it do it by timing. I at least (try to) time with it.

Once more it comes down to preference. I just see the Detonator as more versatile. I myself prefer doing more damage over annoying. Especially since you can manage group ignitions with Detonator anyway.

The main problem is that Scorch basically attempts to do what detonator does (Jumps, multi-ignition), with varying degrees of success, and its only difference is that it's easier to use (and has far less damage potential) than the detonator It's fun, but the Detonator is usually the better choice unless you're spamming it to knock people off of objectives

I can't remember too much about it, but I remember liking it. Some other ones are Kore Wa Zombie no Desu Ka (and KWZNDK of the Dead) which was one I watched forever ago (probably going to rewatch and then go for the second season) and Nichijou. Most likely already know about those, though.

Angel Beats is one of my favourites (and one of the first) animes I watched. Hmm... Puella Magi (Madoka Magica) is probaby up there with Angel Beats in terms of favourites. There's always the standard Girls Und Panzer but I'm sure you've already seen that. Steins;Gate is a really good show, you should definitely watch it. Oddly enough, I liked Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 0 because it actually felt like an anime and not, well, like Yu-Gi-Oh, but that may just be my Hammer Legion Member showing. 11Eyes was pretty good as well, though there's a bit of fanservice occasionally and the ending was a little meh. Another I've seen was one called Elemental Gelade (Or Eremantar Gerad. It switched depending on what subs you watched.) which was decent, as far as my memory goes. ...I feel like I missed a bunch.
