The midseason finale was bullshit. It's not that I'm "emotionally devastated" or anything like that, it was just terribly written and a limp conclusion to a storyline that ultimately feels like a waste of time, in retrospect. The whole episode was pretty much wall to wall terrible. As far as the ending goes, cheap shots can be (and have been) effective, but this one pretty much just made me shrug and go "Whelp, fuck you too, Walking Dead writers". It was just so lazy.

Got the LotR Extended Blu-ray set on Thursday and watched all three with my family on Friday/Saturday/Sunday. I'd already seen them but I'm still floored by how great those films are. Pretty much a perfect trilogy and they still look pretty incredible in HD.

The way his sword is stylized I'm guessing they're trying to make it evocative of some ancient order like the knights templar or some shit. So I think either of your theories are probably good, Binary.

I had the same thought but I suppose it offers some degree of protection, at least. Plus, if the emitters were flush with the hilt it would be really easy to put your hand in that shit. With the metal bits you can kind of rest your hand on it without accidentally touching the blade.

I have mixed feelings on the crossguard but really, between the prequels and the extended universe I'm pretty sure we've seen tons of dumbfuck lightsaber/weapon designs. This isn't the first. At least it's something new that's... kind of practical? I do like the fact that we're basically getting the lightsaber equivalent of a Claymore. I think the original lightsabers were inspired by the katana, Maul had a lightsaber "staff" and Dooku had a fencing sword. I think it's cool we're seeing a new type represented.

Chills. Abrahms can be a great director and it shows here. Some of the five second shots in this teaser have more character and intensity than all the prequel movies combined. It's beautiful. The plot might be complete shit, we can't really know yet. I think we can at least agree though, the movie looks like it'll be a wild ride either way.

Juraasic Park 3 didn't already fuck up the franchise? I'm pretending JP3 and Phantom Menace didn't exist here. Every franchise gets one. Uh... Yeah, Jurassic Park 3 sucked. Lost World also sucked. Yeah, Phantom Menace sucked. Attack of the Clones also sucked. Revenge of the Sith sucked a little less, but it too, sucked. These franchises were already ruined.

I'm definitely willing to give it a shot if it gets decent reviews. I have mixed feelings on the hybrid dinosaur but really, the dinosaurs in the first films were already hybrids anyway, whether you count the gene splicing or new facts that would later come to light about real dinosaurs that made them diverge even further from their JP portrayals. At least this time they've basically admitted that and instead of making something like another woefully inaccurate Dilophosaurus they've chosen to just go all the way and make a full on monster. Plus, Chris Pratt is gonna fight that shit with a pack of trained raptors and a motorcycle. I mean come on, guys. Give them your money.

They should set challenges up so you can replay them beyond the original objective once you beat them. I wonder if there's a seed that would give you the same items.

I feel like Computer Savvy is less a "challenge" and more "You'll probably never get this combination of items by chance so I just wanted to show you how fucking cool this is".
