  1. if we let spufugees in can all the vets get little proof of purchase icons to let the new people know we're their betters?

Seriously though I'm all for opening the floodgates. It would be nice to have some fresh meat in here and I think a lot of people will be looking for a place like this. Plus, if I'm not mistaken we haven't really been "hiding" the batcave for a few years now. As for Jay if he wants to start his own forum that's fine. There's no reason why there can't be more than one, so there's no reason why we shouldn't invite people here.

  2. A few thoughts on GotG 2:

+ Great soundtrack obviously. The Chain was used to awesome effect late in the movie.

+ Lots of character development. Everyone has a purpose and time in the spotlight.

+ One of the few Marvel movies with a great villain.

+ One of the few Marvel movies not to feature some over-arching next-movie-establishing Infinity Stone bullshit. It was a self contained stand alone entity which was really refreshing.

+ The humor was still on point. Not as many jokes land as in the original but there are some great pieces of dialogue.

    + Best Stan Lee cameo.

+/- A lot darker and more violent than the first one. I'm not sure how I felt about that.

+/- Five after credits sequences were a nice little bit of meta-humor but I thought all of them were a letdown

    - I low key hate Baby Groot. He's a totally one-note gag and they use it to death in this movie. Every character got some tearful "I'm a real person with vulnerabilities" type scene and Baby Groot just ran around screaming "I MAKE BABIES BUY TOYS OF ME"

    - Gunn's over reliance on tonal shifts and unpredictability make the movie strangely more predictable. There were very few times he threw a curveball in there that isn't telegraphed. "Oh, a serious scene? Someone's about to crack a joke or get hit by an object or something".

    - Kind of a meandering plot in certain sections.

    - They did the whole "split the cast up for most of the movie" things which I think is overused.

Overall it was solid and enjoyable. It's hard to say it's better or worse than the first one because it's a really different kind of movie. It didn't feel as special and fresh, but that would be impossible considering how much of an unexpected hit the first one was. It's worth seeing.

What about just Call of Duty or Call of Duty 2

Call of Duty was a cool title when the first one came out, I guess?

It just seems like they could have named it anything other than just what the war was called. Battlefield did it but they combined it in a way that was actually kind of clever with Battlefield 1. I know creativity isn't something we should expect from CoD but shit, it's just the laziest way to go.

They should just go 2 Fast 2 Furious levels of stupid with their stupid franchise and name it "CaWWII of Duty" in an ambiguous font where the I's look like lower case l's.
