Wow you and I are almost neighbors then. I'm only a few exits up 575 from you. Since you're new to the area here's a few places of interest you might not be aware of. Battle & Brew. This is the designated "Geek bar". They hold a lot of events, LAN gaming, etc. If you ever head down there please find a bartender named Gunnar and tell him "Zesty" sent you. Then take him out back and kick his ass until he gives you my $250. Dr. No's The last bastion of table top gaming and comics anywhere even remotely close to us. This place holds some kind of event or tournament nearly every other day. Swayze's An absolute hole in the wall venue where local bands play. Entry to ANY concert usually isn't more than $5 and on rare occassions some "bigger" bands will play there. The Street Dogs actually played a show many many years ago here when they first formed and to this day can't believe they were actualy there. Dragoncon. If you've read any of my other stories you should know about this. Do yourself a favor and get your ass down there this september for at least one day since you're in the area. The Masquerade Big venue in atlanta. In general 90% of concerts worth going to are held here. Restaurants: There are A LOT of crappy places to eat around here but we do have our fair share of top quality places. AJ's Hanami Steakhouse Goin' Coastal Marlow's Tavern Ippolito's Gondolier That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but in general anywhere in downton woodstock is great.

I actually moved about 8 years ago. Still in Georgia just a bit more north now on the border of holly springs and canton where nothing interesting or fun exists in a 20 mile radius.

I've lost count of the the things he's pulled off that aren't humanly possible, like the time he ripped a cash register out of a wall when he took too much Xanex. Yup I spent most of my life in Marietta. I know Commander is also from around Atlanta as well. Eh, I just have interesting friends and happen to be at the center of all this. Personally I'm usually quite boring. The craziest thing I've ever really done while intoxicated is worry needlessly and super glue people's feet to walls while they slept. Well captain buzz kill no it isn't. This night was pretty awful at the time but in hindsight the story is always amusing. Every time I tell a story involving drug use I always put at least some kind of "drugs" are bad message in there. I stopped doing them a long long time ago. I have plenty of stories about the ugly side of this coin, like zakks house getting shot at by drive by when Brandon pissed off some dealers, or my friend gunnar spending 4 years in an insane asylum after his meth addiction, or when my friend Drake ended up drowning in a river during an outdoor music festival, or when a good friend of mine ended up developing an extreme cocaine addiction thanks to EY, or the numerous times friends of mine ended up in jail or worse getting mugged/stabbed. I grew up, a lot of my friends didn't. Take the story for what it is, but don't think this was or is everyday life for me. Also... Splosion: born July 24th 1987. I desperately asked him for a clearer explanation but his only response came in an "OH SHIT..." followed by the sound of screeching metal and the phone cutting out. In panicked breaths I explained this to the others and we started to freak out all over again. Even if we did call an ambulance we had no clue where Brandon was at this point. So we hid. We heard footsteps stomping around upstairs, then the stairwell door to the basement opened and down they came. From our hiding spots we heard a familiar, "the fuck did everyone go?" It was Brandon. He stood there smiling while we all came out and after chewing him out for worrying us again he explained that when the cops tried to pull Boon over for having Brandon with an open container in his truck bed, Brandon opted to dive into a ditch from a truck going 70 MPH. Not only was it a miracle that he survived this, or that he was dumb enough to even do this, he finished retelling the events by pulling from his pocket the beer he had opened. THE SAME BEER HE OPENED IN THE TRUCK BED. He had managed to jump through a window, in front of and out of a speeding truck, all while holding on to what's really important. His beer. Neither time travelers nor Atlanta's finest could take this away from him.

I'm starting to get the feeling no one reads these but since I've got so many of these stories and want to keep writing them down I guess I'll keep the thread going. WARNING! This story is rated MA for nudity and violence (Don't worry there aren't pictures) so if you continue reading and end up not liking something just remember I gave you fair warning. That one time I sort of got laid A long long time ago at Dragoncon I was single. During this magical time in my teenage years I went from "that nerdy kid" at school to that funny guy at cons and it wasn't unusual for me to have decent luck with ladies at cons. Well one year I found out one can get lucky and be very very unlucky all at once. This year of the convention was the year that I had discovered 4chan and looking back on this con I want to go back in time to punch myself in the face so hard. Zakk, Chris, and myself had all purchased Guy Fawkes masks and taped rules to "The Game" all over the convention I know, i know. As soon as time machines are available please go hit me. (On a completely unrelated note, Atlanta police became absolutely FURIOUS with us when members of the neighboring gay pride convention started complaining about AIDS...) So late one night being the cool guy that I was. I started chatting up this tiny asian girl. After a few hours downing drinks and talking we went back to my hotel room. We started making out for a bit and after about 15 minutes her clothes were off. The direction this was initially heading in seemed so promising... Due to graphic descriptions of naked Splosion and asian girl the rest of this story will be spoilered.

Does this mean an end to the Binocracy?

I actually don't go to FNM at all and it may seem a bit silly considering how much cash I've dropped on this game but my girlfriend is the only person I play MTG with outside of a few late night drunken games with friends at conventions so my concerns aren't getting these anywhere near competitive level I want to get these balanced with each other, since those will be the only decks I play against. I used to be huge into the competitive scene about 10 years ago. Back then I basically lived in the game store where I worked but now I just play the game because it's one of the few games my girlfriend and I really enjoy playing together. At least until she gets a more stable gaming rig of her own. So really these are all just casual decks. I still toss in some hefty wincons here and there but after I made that black and red vampire deck I learned my lesson about keeping everything on par with each other. I used to have a pretty fun red/green werewolf deck but ended up having to scrap it because it just couldn't compete with anything else, luckily though the good bits of that were set aside for when I try to slap together a passable Gruul.

Finally have my rough starting points for 4 of the gatecrash guilds put together. Maybeboards are cards I'm considering buying to add to the decks to finalize them. Boros Orzhov Simic Dimir Simic needs to be way higher on that list. The ability to manipulate the undying mechanic alone is great but when you factor in some cards from past sets that blend so well with Simic mechanics like these... Simic can be insanely powerful and hit really quickly with some gigantic creatures in the right circumstances.

Really? You play TF2 and you're surprised by expensive cosmetic items?

Relationship NPCs have an equippable item called "MAKEUP" that allows for deep cusomization options should you be unhappy with their appearance. However trying to forcefully make them equip this item or even asking can result in them turning hostile.

95% of all anime is absolute shit. Here's a short list of what I've found watchable. Trigun: Space western-esque style show. Not very long and has a decent story. Case Closed / Detective Conan: If you've never seen this you haven't led a complete life. If the writers of this show ever were to become actual serial killers they would never be caught. Ever. Dokuro Chan: A young boy grows up to invent a machine that completely stops the aging process, inadvertently turning all humanity into a race of pedophiles by having women stop aging at around 12 so an angel from the future is sent back in time to murder the boy and bring him back to life whenever he tries to go to schoool or do homework so when he grows up he won't be intelligent enough to create the machine. I'm not being clever. That is the actual plot. Sym-Bionic Titan: An american anime by Gendy Tartakovsky the genius behind Dexter's Lab and many other cartoons we knew and loved back in the 90's. Sym-Bionic Titan is stylized after things like power rangers and old godzilla movies with some hilarious voice acting from Brian Poseihn. Easily the best american anime I've ever seen and definitely worth giving a watch. Anything by studio Gibli: Basically the Disney of Japan without the antisemitism and evil empire. Tons of great movies have come out of this studio as well as a few TV shows and video games. I recommend watching Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle first if you've never seen a Gibli film. Yeah I'm starting to see the potential for a Boros deck. Out of the 35 boosters I opened today the majority had Gruul and Boros rares. Managed to pull a frontline medic and Aurelia's fury. Out of my gatecrash decks so far it's turning out to be my strongest. My biggest issue right now is trying to decide between making my Dimir deck milling focused or built around unblockable creatures using cipher.

Oh god this is hilarious. How stupid can this guy be? I guess hitting every drift/trick boost opportunity flawlessly constitutes cheating. "This guy knows his computers" /facepalm

My selesnya deck is easily my favorite from RTR too. I need to spend about $500 on tokens for how many it pumps out. After opening 35 my room reeks of new card smell. Pulls were mostly good, managed to get 2 mythics and a foil rare land. Pick up Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 on steam. It's a great introduction to the game. Most of the DLC you can unlock yourself by just playing the game but the expansions and deck packs are definitely worth grabbing. MTG is one of the best games I've ever played and you're really missing out having never tried this.

About to pop open 35 booster packs of gatecrash and 4 starter decks. Gonna be a good day.

Well I got some very lucky pulls so far. Those 4 links in the OP are my first 4 guild decks in there current form (Maybeboards are cards I plan on buying) and so far the Selesnya deck is easily the strongest and once I get some parallel lives in there it will be perfect. My girlfriend and I have bought 4 RTR fat packs and a lot of what I have came from those. We've also got: -A generic blue spell deck loosely based around Talrand Sky Summoner -A blue milling deck which will probably be converted into our Dimir guild deck -A red / black vampire deck. By far our most powerful at the moment. Plenty of stromkirk rares and an Olivia voldaren. -A white / black exalted deck -A green "replay" deck based around roaring primadox -and a pure white soldier deck I'm sure this beautiful little combo is going to set me back a bit when I start working on a Simic deck. http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=262850&type=card Also is the Boros guild really that good? I think I might be missing the big picture on it. Aside from the battalion mechanic I'm not really getting the core "theme" of the guild. Next to Gruul it seems like the weakest guild in Gatecrash. You should consider picking it up again. The currently block is incredibly fun.

I bought the golgari vs izzet event deck and love them both but I'm trying to scrap together a proper Golgari deck to round out my ravnica sets before moving on to gatecrash. Once I do get into the new expansion Simic and Dimir guild decks are first on my to do list. Especially looking forward to getting as many of these into my deck as possible. Screwing over your oppenent 3 times with a single card? I'll take 50.
