I decided to stop lurking for a bit to tell you all something. I've found a new magical futuristic device and I have no clue how I ever lived without one. DO YOU SEE THIS!? IT'S WITCHCRAFT! I know the shield has been out for a fairly long time now but it recently got a huge price drop and game streaming is completely out of beta so I decided to take a $200 gamble and see if it was any good and dear god it's the greatest gaming peripheral / handheld / console / tablet I've ever owned. If you have an Nvidia card compatible with this, GO GET ONE NOW! Mine barely meets the minimum specs and after asking a few other people their advice on this they also pointed out I'd need a new router. I'm currently using a beaten up awful linksys router that I purchased 8 years ago... 8 years... ...And it works... It just works... Granted I'm still going to upgrade the thing but even on the crap connection the lag I get is minuscule and is only really apparent when running my most demanding games. And speaking of games it runs ALL THE GAMES. The entire steam library, Nearly every emulator (Dolphin is in beta for a few more weeks), App games from the android store, the games that you actually can't play using a shield is a very very short list and really only consists of next gen console exclusives and games that are heavily mouse/keyboard reliant. Oh and as far as how the games look? I thought I'd be squinting at blurry pixels crammed into a tiny screen but it actually manages to put my desktop monitor to shame. and guess what else it does now? remember this failed block of wasted money? Buy yourself a mini hdmi cable and the shield can act as portable console! EDIT: It's also bluetooth capable so if you get yourself a bluetooth mouse/keyboard those few steam games that don't play well on here are completely playable. Just go, now, get one. It's perfect. A tiny little full blown gaming pc that goes where you go. Worth every penny and compared to other handhelds and everything it can do, you get way more than your money's worth.

You're probably thinking of the Razer Edge. I looked into this as well before getting the shield but it's five times the cost, not as powerful, bulky, and only runs windows 8. KITKAT MASTER RACE!

If you have any games in your steam library that you don't mind using a 360 controller for then it is worth it. But if you only play games that really depend on mouse and keyboard I'd say only pick one up if you travel a lot and want to also invest in a bluetooth mouse and keyboard. Speaking of controls I found out that most games come pre mapped. Anytime a new game comes out someone can submit their mapping to Nvidia and if it's considered good enough they'll automatically download it on other devices when you launch that game. The shield does have it's own store and some games do get ported directly to the shield. I don't think skyrim is one of them but borderlands 2 is coming out sometime this month I think and from the videos I've seen the direct ports look pretty much identical to the PC versions. Although I don't see the point in buying directly from the shield store when you have access to a steam library.

No! It's all wireless. You don't even have to be on the same network. You could be in another country and still stream your games as long as both ends have about an 8 mbps connection speed.

I was so looking forward to having no interest in the Theros expansion but then they had to release those damn planeswalkers. Xenagos just fits too perfectly in my Gruul deck to not get and ashiok isn't that shabby either. I've been on a planeswalker buying binge recently to finally top off my guild decks and only have a few left to finish things off. Mega Man X1 was the first game I ever bought myself and it's probably my favorite game of all time. I never cared much for the original series but out of them I think I enjoyed 7 the most. Mega man zero is an alright sequel for the x series and I was one of the few that enjoyed Command Mission. The battle network games however were god awful IMO. Also, let's all take a minute to remember how much Egoraptor nailed why X1 is the best game ever... [spoiler2] [/spoiler2]

I bought way too many boosters during my trip. It turns out middle of nowhere walmarts carry old boosters since rednecks can't grasp mtg. I saw brand new 2010 packs at one point. But I mostly stuck to to the ravnica blocks and pulled a few great things. Finally got my hands on a snapcaster mage, a domri rade, and a foil silverblade paladin. I also threw together a sliver deck while at a game store in seattle. Sliver deck list It still needs a good bit of tweaking but it works well so far.

I can't really stand that guy they have for steam train though.

WATCH IT NOW! Seriously it's the single best TV show ever made and you will get drop kicked a million times in all of your feels. It's really dependent on which series/episode you're watching. It has its brilliant moments and its terrible ones. I suggest starting out watching season 3 or 4 of the next generation and then making your way from there. Voyager, Enterprise, and Deep Space 9 aside, Star trek doesn't have many long story arcs so it's generally ok to skip around.

My Izzet deck does this and girlfriend despises when I pull it out. I happened upon a mizzium mortars while going through her cards last week so now it has decent burn as well.

I still haven't played much of the first and judging by the last one if I wait a little while it'll hit an uber sale.

Ok so I actually made this deck over my vacation and it's easily my most powerful and most consistent deck yet. Gruul Deck List It's extremely rare for me to have less than 5 mana by turn 3 and something big to pull out, and it generally hits wincon by turn 6.

I don't know about everyone else but I think this forum is in desperate need of actual gaming discussion instead of a 50th page for the fetish thread, so how about a little hopeful nostalgia? So you know what needs a sequel? Road Rash! I used to love this game. On the surface it was a pretty generic motorcycle racer until you got close enough to break open someones skull with a baseball bat for being faster than you. I love kart racers, and on some occasions I like excessive violence. Combining the two was a genius move and I wish another game like this would come along.
