I ended up enjoying rakdos way more than I thought I would so if you like aggro, destruction and direct damage go with that. However Izzet looks like it's going to get very beefy with this expansion if you'd rather go for a control / burn theme.

I'm actually not a huge fan of detain. If you look at my azorious deck you'll notice it's mostly "perma-detain" styled enchantments. Why take a creature out of the game for a single turn when you can do it permanently?

HELL YEAH! Looks like izzet's guild is about to get some much needed love from dragon's maze. So excited for this set. They need to hurry up and release it already.

A quick word on spoiler tags while we're on the topic. Is there any way to extend the spoiler blackout to the "What's New" preview page? unless you have a good sized sentence beforehand everyone sees the spoiler on that page whether they want to or not.

I actually think we need the ignore feature removed. While it hasn't created any weird kind of conversation gaps yet the potential is certainly there. Aside from that if there is something problematic going on and one of us decides to entirely ignore someone sure we don't have to deal with it but newer users/lurkers are clueless which could lead to some bigger problems of turning away potential new posters. The "out of sight out of mind" solution is rarely ever a good choice. If someone is causing trouble I would rather see us have to deal with the problem than simply avoid it.

Simic can be very beastly. Personally I prefer using simic cards to exploit the undying mechanic for indestructible creatures.

I'm really excited for the new expansion purely in the hopes that it will balance out some of the weaker guilds. Mainly hoping we get more Gruul that makes the core gruul theme playable but some more golgari / izzet flavor would be nice too. I'd really like to see some more balanced cipher cards as well since hands of binding is essentially all that's really worthwhile. Let's just hope anything boros in this expansion is underpowered garbage. Boros doesn't need any help. Also, MAGIC DoTP 2014 ANNOUNCED!!! Looks like there's going to be another 150 hours I can say goodbye to.

Prince of persia is on sale again for anyone who hasn't played it. Each game is only $2.50 or you can get them all for $15 wait what the... Really steam? REALLY!? Oh well that nonsense aside they are mostly fantastic games. Forgotten sands is probably my favorite but avoid the cell shaded monstrosity at the top of that list. It's the only bad one.

Any kind of "exotic pet" is waaaay more trouble than it's worth. My girlfriend and I recently did research in an attempt to get a raccoon/squirrel (not even that exotic) and for basically anything that isn't a cat/dog/fish/bird you usually need: -A special permit from the government stating you are able to give the proper care. -A proper habitat for the animal that will provide sufficient space/exercise -A veterinarian specifically trained to treat said animal -Appropriate income to cover ANY possible care costs (including veterinary / surgery costs) -Someone trained and capable of caring for the animal should you become unable to (some more exotic animals must even be covered in a will for you to own them) -Liability insurance for any injuries / diseases / damages the animal is capable of causing Sadly most of the time it's simpler to try and get a job at a zoo than jump through all the hoops necessary for something furry and adorable. One day... :(
