Yeah exactly this. After the actual gameplay fun wears off it boils down to a loot whoring game which of course can be fun still (Such as in torchlights case) but I found Orcs Must Die and Sanctum to be much btter 3DTDs than DD did.

So recently I've had series of really bad heating related crashes which I've finally pinpointed to the video card starting to die. Mainly I'm looking to upgrade the card itself and cooling options for my PC and would like some suggestions. I'll mostly be running TF2 but also a few more demanding games on rare occassion. My budget will probably be in the $150-$200 range but I don't mind putting in a bit more if it'll extend my PC's life by a few more years. Suggestions?

I can't begin to state how much I despise what's happening to geek culture. I know I sound like such a hipster talking about it but I'm honestly starting to miss the days when gaming wasn't mainstream and conventions were stereotyped to hell. Now it's "trendy" to enjoy scifi and comic books and show off how nerdy you are and most people do it in this extremely insulting manner (like with this show) to those of us that grew up in this culture. Hell when I was younger I was basically raised in a game shop from the time I was 11-16. We played D&D, MTG, discussed star trek and comics and not as some sort of weird trend or fashion statement we did it because we actually enjoyed these things. It's sad but I'm seeing these types of people more and more often. Ever talked to a "booth babe" at a convention? You'll want to rip your ears off afterward. A group of geeks. 95% attention whores. In the last few years we've had many many people show up to cons just for attention seeking. I can't count how many times I've commented on someones costume only for them to not know a damn thing about the show/game/etc from what they were wearing. When I was younger I always wanted to head out to the San Diego Comicon but after hearing friends tell me about it at Dragoncon you wouldn't catch me dead there. Welcome to being a major demographic everyone...

First off that humble bundle is an insane deal considering it has every Dungeon Defenders DLC included. As for steam sales going on right now. OH MY GOD BUY ALL THE PRICE OF PERSIA! Amazing series. I played around with the new grenade launcher for about 5 hours last night and I've gotta disagree, the new launcher is AMAZING. Right now we're all still in "how the fuck do i use this mode" but this thing has some scary potential considering how much the damage can scale up combined with how great it is at juggling enemies.

Maybe infitie uber could work instead? I don't think ubers block knockback from this.

After several days of hacking up and redoing every line of BB code and finding pictures and videos I've successfully reformated all of my TF2 guides for the new SPUD guide section of the hub. If anyone has a spare moment and would like to give one or two a quick read to help me double check for mistakes, bad info, etc that would be great. I also desperately need thumbs up on my QF guide and thumbs down on the other QF guide on SPUD to get the thing buried. The guy advocates pocketing heavies exclusively with the QF... This has been happening on and off for about a year now but has recently gotten a bit worse.I'm thinking it might just be an issue of overheating but I'm not exactly the most tech saavy person around. The problem only seems to occur in graphically intensive multiplayer games. Chivalry and TF2 are the prime culprits here. The crashes start with my computer entering power save mode and not coming out of it. Triead about a dozen fixes and so far no luck. Is it time for me to just upgrade something here? omg... So allow me to recap the last hour in the life of splosion... This is something I've been putting off! I'll go dust! -Spent ten minutes unhooking pc and moving to work desk -open case -Computer is made of dust -Spend next 45 minutes poking around in this extremely cramped piece of crap case with canned air, q-tips, and a vacuum cleaner hose -lose canned air hose attachment several times as it gets shot into the depths of the case -spend ten minutes finding hose as melted plastic wont help heating issue -finally finish -close it up -reattach everything -turn on - BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP -Frantically search google on slow shiity Ipad for answers -Google result: Video card ded... "LIAR!" -Shove PC back to original spot on desk -Restart -finally works FINAL RESULT: 15 degrees cooler than it was running. Getting a steady 45C now. Better but I feel like this isn't as cool as it should be running. Thanks everyone. I'm going to go enjoy sneezing up the 8 pounds of dust I enhaled for the next 2 days.
