  1. I had a dream where it was winter in my neighborhood and I was wandering the streets. There were lots of people outside, too.

However, I was being hunted by a slightly modified AT-ST. It must've been inspired by the AT-STs from the second Force Unleashed game. It had its main cannons as well as a secondary twin blaster on the side that could shoot two slow-moving electrobolts or rapidly fire blaster bolts. On the other side, it had a tube for launching explosives, but it didn't use it while in my neighborhood. It also had some random animal allies (including a seal) wandering around, ready to call for the AT-ST if they found me.

Anyway, I was apparently part of the rebel alliance. If I had a mission, I don't remember what it was. My affiliation was known to just about everyone and everything, but it didn't seem to matter in the slightest to anyone except for the AT-ST and the animals. I could be in the middle of a crowd in the street, the AT-ST could start firing at me, and the crowd would act like it wasn't even happening. Fortunately for them, the AT-ST seemed unable to hit them or cause any sort of collateral damage. I guess it was designed that way so that people would think better of the Empire.

I was able to reach my house, but even my own family was apathetic to my plight. I could discuss my problem with them, but they wouldn't treat it very seriously. At one point, I found my mom sitting on the front porch petting the seal. I couldn't do anything hostile towards the seal because I knew that would just give the rebels a bad reputation, so I had to just leave it be, even though it saw me and called for the AT-ST. Fortunately for me, if I stayed hidden long enough, they would leave.

Then my dream shifted to me playing a greatly modified Minecraft. It seemed to play like a Zelda game, where it was open world, there were lots of hostile mobs wandering around and lots of generated structures, and I could enter dungeons, fight bosses, and find health upgrades at the end. It was still Minecraft, though, so I could manipulate the environment with tools.

I couldn't bother with any of that though, because the AT-ST was in the game, constantly following me and attacking no matter where I was, only this time it exclusively used its side tube to launch TNT at me. In the game, I never found any other people and the AT-ST was able to destroy the environment. This worked out for me a bit because there were tons of chests everywhere and it destroyed them letting me easily pick up the loot.

At one point, I tried to enter a deep dungeon to avoid the AT-ST, but there were skeletons and creeper-like mobs (hitting them made them explode, but they were still alive and could bash you with their heads) everywhere. I was panicking and sprinted through to the boss area where there were two Wither-like bosses (one lesser than the other, acting as a bodyguard). I knew that I had to keep attacking them to stop them from attacking me, so that's what I did.

I woke up before I could kill either of them.

  2. Recently I managed to gain some self awareness in a dream and briefly make it lucid. I hardly remember anything, sadly, but here's what I can recall:

I was in my house. Time was passing and things that I don't remember we're happening. I guess that things felt a bit off, or I felt drowsier in-dream than I think I should have. In an attempt to ground myself, I pressed against a wall while trying to focus on a clock, but the numbers weren't defined; they were blurry and changed often. There might not have even been hands on the clock.

I thought in-dream that I was probably REALLY tired... Then I remembered something I read about having lucid dreams: Clocks don't show time properly in dreams and, if you notice this while dreaming, you could make the dream lucid.

This turned out to be the case.

I got really excited. The first thing I did was telekinetically grab a jug of milk from across the house and bring it to my hand. I messed with telekinesis a lot more after that, but that's all that I can remember.

    I wanna do it again.

  3. I've been playing a lot of Sims 2. I got it free on Origin with the I-LOVE-THE-SIMS code quite a while back, but only really tried to get into it recently.

Using a number of mods, this game has been pretty satisfying. I guess I should be glad that I don't know much about the other Sims games.

I made a mansion that I think is pretty sweet. It started as inspiration from this story:

I guess this wasn't from Sims 2, but lol whatevs. I ended up making a big fancy dreamhouse, which was quite the challenge initially because I decided to try and do it on a small square lot. I was disappointed to find out the floor limit the hard way, but then I found the dormer exploit and all was well. At this point, the house cost over 600,000.

I have a dungeon hidden behind a bookcase. I made an ugly paint troll of my own (wearing a gorilla suit), cheated him the money to buy the house and sent him in, maximizing creativity and interest in art, forcing him to do almost nothing but paint. The repo man come by a few times, but I replaced most of what he repo'd. Then I decided to just let my troll die by removing everything in the room but the easel. He left a puddle and some junk on the porch. I didn't keep his urn. The house dropped down to a little over 400,000.

I did some renovations including adding garden plants to the available land and a helicopter with a pad to the roof, and now it's at ~532,000.

I made a man; he got married and I'm trying to make them earn the money to move in. Currently they're at ~230,000. I maximized both their lifetime aspirations and achieved one lifetime want each. One mod I have lengthens the aging process, but only for new characters (i.e. my man but not his wife), so most of their aspiration points are going towards the elixir of life for her.

    Is fun.

  4. I feel proud and grateful right now.

I like solving puzzles, riddles, brain teasers, etc. Recently I’ve been hoping to gather a group to go to a live escape room: A place where you solve puzzles as a team to complete an objective, from robbing a safe to stopping a nuclear meltdown. I expect it to be precisely what I love doing, and more. There’s two places near me: Getout Games and Escapes in Time.

I like their pages on Facebook, and earlier today, noticed Escapes in Time post a strange picture with the caption “Test pic”

I quickly analyzed the picture and commented:
“The blank key should have "N". There should be a spot for "M", too, but it seems that another key has been shifted over to cover it's spot.
    Did I pass the test?”
    They responded:
“Ha ha. You are amazing. In fact, you are so amazing that you just won a free ticket. If you want to bring some friends and play one of the rooms, just call and tell us when you're coming and you can play for free. I took this pic bec i was setting up our Instagram account and I wanted to make sure it had linked to FB correctly. Call us when you want to book. Thanks for following us!”

    Yessir! I got 100% off a $25 ticket!

  5. This year's Shakespeare competition went well.

    In our division:

Our ensemble piece (Richard III Act V scene III, where Richard is haunted by the people he's killed, while I, as his enemy, Richmond AKA Henry VII, am blessed to defeat him) took first place and was showcased. Just like last year with our Henry V scene inspired by Mad Max.

We had one monologue take 2nd place, our tech team take 3rd in the tech Olympics, and one girl in our improv team get the Tina Fey award.

The duo/trio scene competition was fierce and none of ours placed (Not even my scene from Merry Wives of Windsor, where I played an angry French doctor who discovers that he's in competition with another guy for the same girl. We took 9th.)

Overall, our team tied for first with a performing arts school, which made us happy.

The competition was held on a college campus, and I went to see what swords I could buy in the bookstore (yes, they have swords, tall, small, and made of metal, although dull for obvious reasons). I found some nice swords, but found better deals for them online, and I will get them later.

I did buy a cheap wooden two-handed sword that I expected -and found- to be wobbly, because it is not full tang (a new phrase I recently learned).

What I would like to know is: How can I reinforce it to a decent durability, fit perhaps for combat? Screws? Duct tape?

  6. My only complaint with 10 is that it causes my laptop to crash almost every time it wakes up, whether from sleep or hibernation. So, one has to keep it on and running at all times or else it takes a very inconvenient amount of time to continue or start something.

  7. Dad-gum Mount & Blade: Warband is HARD!

I'm mostly disappointed with how the enemies in the arena melee fights all eventually team up against you, sometimes even at the beginning of the fight. They all go for you and literally can't hit anyone else. Their weapons either go through or bounce off each other until you're down.

But, pulling off a chamber attack is wicked sweet.
