Welp, after contemplating about it for while, I decided to go to the nearest Gamestop today and get myself a $20 Wallet Code for Steam, and am gonna get my self CS:GO. After watching some more gameplay videos, I'd think it would be fun learning the ropes and trying it out. Arms Race will help me get used to the feel of the different guns I'd assume. Playing offline with bots should get me acquainted with the different gamemodes and maps, and I feel the modding community has something up their sleeve for me. And of course SKIIIIINNNSSSSS!!! Ultimate goal, get a butterfly knife (or any knife really), don't care what quality, or skin, just want one. It'll take a long ass time I'm sure. I just want to play Terrorist Spy. -
I want to get off thesupremecommander's wild ride.

I don't know if it's got anything to do with me not being American but I play Red Orchestra because I can't simply leave my house and slaughter people with semi-automatic weapons. Well.... technically you could.....

Apparently not with some of the stuff that has changed.

You know what I hate, shooters that try to be too realistic. I'm talking about games like Arma, and Red Orchestra. The kind of games where you move super slow when not sprinting, and when you do sprint you only move slightly faster and can only sprint for like five seconds until running out of breath. Where gun switch times are super slow and the controls are all complicated to hell. An you have all of this slowness, but like, super fast killtimes where only 1-4 bullets is enough to kill you. That makes no sense. Why have such fast kill times when there's no advanced movement to speak of? For what, realism? People play games to escape reality dammit. I wouldn't mind all the realism if it was only a singleplayer game, that's understandable. But when games like these have multiplayer, that's when things get retarded.

I hate Reddit's comment structure, why can't we just keep the things we like?

Amen to that. Someone made the full version of the final Warthog run on Halo 3, it's pretty cool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_pAa9252Uo

Microsoft possibly buying Minecraft for $2 Billion

Source Apparently Microsoft wants to buy Minecraft in its entirety for $2 billion. Frankly I'm not surprised considering how much dosh Minecraft gets to make off of it. Here's this dude's opinion, he was the one who got me aware of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AROFq6sea_4&list=UUVtEytgcL5fZcSiKx-BjimQ What do you guys think, will be good or bad for Minecraft/Microsoft? -

The original trilogy did introduce new mechanics, such as duel wielding and vehicle hijacking in Halo 2, and usable equipment pickups like shield drain and bubble shields in 3. But, it stuck to the core gameplay, which was equal starts for both teams and fighting for map control for power weapons scattered throughout the map. Halo: Reach was the first to change this by adding preset loadouts (which for most gametypes was just a change in your armor ability, but nonetheless was significant). Additionally, Armor abilities such as Sprint and and Jetpack really screwed over map design and flow. But thanks to the extensive Custom Game options and Forge capabilities in Forge World, players could salvage the original feel of the older games, so people weren't as mad as they would be. Then came Halo 4 which went down Reach's path by introducing more armor abilities and introducing player-controlled loadouts and perks. So that meant equal starts were a thing of the past. Ordinance drops made things worse by ridding the need for map control over power weapons since anybody can just camp in a corner, get five kills, call an ordinance drop, and get a Rocket Launcher like that. And since it was random, while some guy gets a RL, you get your drop and get screwed over by receiving only forerunner grenades, speed boost, and a gravity hammer in a long-range map. The worst part was that Custom Games and Forge were basically gutted, so it wasn't salvageable, and at that point it wasn't even Halo anymore for those people. So it was at that point a lot got up and left the game. Nowadays, the peak numbers for Halo 4 were only able to reach 20,000 at most, while the older games and even Reach gained 100,000 easily each day, even after several years. It was, actually. Not as powerful as in 2, though. RIP dual needlers, I miss you. Oh god I remember that, so glad they took that way in 3. -

I'm with you on enjoying all of the Halo games, I thought they were fun. I just did whatever and that was that. But the majority of Halo fans are competitive gamers, they were the ones that made Halo great and supported it the most. To alienate them in such a way by dumbing down the game so much and changing the core gameplay was an insult to that community. It was a big middle finger to your core fanbase. And business-wise, it's not a smart idea to do that. Look what happened to Halo 4 and you'll see what I'm talking about. I may not be one of them competitive types that are super serious about the game, but even I realize that it's not wise to fuck off the bulk of your fanbase. -
Welp, I know what I'm getting this Xmas. This was the thing that finally convinced me to buy the game. Tomorrow, I'm going to walk down the nearest Gamestop, get a $20 Steam card, come home, enter the code, get CS:GO and then you'll never see me again. Goodbye forever.

Microsoft possibly buying Minecraft for $2 Billion

Answers in bold. Thankfully, 343i made the MCC, so even if Halo 5 flops, then at least Halo will survive until the next console generation. Otherwise, according to the competitive players, Halo is dead. -

I agree that the community can get on my nerves sometimes, but that's what Halo's core community is, competitive. They care about fair and balanced gameplay. Loadouts ruined that since everyone doesn't have the same weapons, and thus equal starts, which was the basis of Halo's balanced gameplay. Loadouts themselves wouldn't be much of problem if the weapons were balanced. When the game released, the DMR dominated the semi-auto primaries, while using anything but the AR for full-auto was stupid, as for pistols, the boltshot was practically a power weapon right off the bat, and giving the player an anti-vehicular grenades (plasma stickies) at the start was sublimey stupid. Even the Amor Abilities people wouldn't mind if they weren't so unbalanced and stupidly designed (an ability that allows you to see through walls WTF!?). Only after several balance patches it got better, but by then, it was far too late. The maps were poorly designed and not made for 4v4 and super asymmetrical (except Haven). And Ordinance drops goes against everything the core Halo multiplayer was about, which was fighting for map control as a team for power weapons, not get killstreaks and gain power weapons on demand. I'm all for helping new players, but if you outright alienate the core fanbase of a franchise, the people who actually care about the franchise and what made it great, then of course the game is going to get massive backlash and die. But if you're going to put all of this shit into the game, that's fine as long as you put a separate set of playlist for both competitive and casual players, similar to Halo 3 and CS:GO, that way, everyone can have their cake and eat it too. -

It was a good game, but it did shit compared to the original trilogy because of all the dumbed down, newb-friendly shit they forced down everyone's throats, such as perks, loadouts, killstreaks in the form of "ordinance drops", a dumb, grindy progression system instead of a skill-based rank, join-in-progress, combining the casual and competitive playlists, the list goes on. The community was furious, and just like that it went from 100,000 players to less than 20,000 in just a few months, deader than dead compared to the the original trilogy that kept peak numbers for several years. That's what happens when Microsoft buys out companies and forces them to appeal to a "broader audience". -

Is what tells me that. If you're going to criticize, at least use ones that make sense, considering I've never seen an in-game ad of any sort. What it represents is Microsoft constantly appealing to a "broader audience" (a.k.a. dumbing it down) whenever it takes over a game franchise and marketing and hyping it all to holy hell by joining forces with LCD companies like McDonalds, and Mountain Dew just for it to be a flop in the sales:marketing ratio and then MS basically abandons it forever. If they do start putting ads in the game though, I will not be one bit surprised.
