I'd actually like to play on these, but being in the UK is suffering. Star's server is very playable from Yurop Be prepared for his asshurt over engineers though: Gunslinger and Pomson are banned, and on 5CP Engy is banned altogether Kind of like Shibby is with Spies. If he gets backstabbed once "HOW DARE YOU!" b& Poor Engie players.

Welp, had my first run in with a phishing link attempt. He was Russian, as usual. He must have saw my trade on Outpost and added me, then before I even had the chance to say hi, he sent me a message. "Hi. My friend want to trade with you. Add him." Then he put a link to a phishing site. I knew this guy was phishy (budum-tsss) when he told me his friend wanted to trade me. So I asked him if his friend wanted to trade, why didn't he just add me directly? Then I said "steancomomunity........really? you think that I'm that stupid? Nice try dipshit." then I reported him. I got no response obviously, and instead I wake up this morning to find that the little son of a bitch tries it again, twice. So at this point I know there's no point in trying to talk to this guy because he's just going to spam me with vain phishing attempts so I say "Again? You really think I'm that stupid? You know what, fuck you and your phishing links." Then I blocked him, and again reported him, twice, one for each link. Here's the chat log for those interested: Warning: Contains bogus links. Do not try to link them. PizDAaaa: Hi. My friend want to trade with you.Add him. steancomomunity.com/id/GTRRacer001 John Caveson: if he wants to trade me, why soesn't he add me then John Caveson: ? John Caveson: also "steancomomunity"? John Caveson: nice try dipshit John Caveson: reported PizDAaaa: Hi. My friend want to trade with you.Add him. steancomomunity.com/id/xclickzm PizDAaaa: Hi. My friend want to trade with you.Add him. steancomomunity.com/id/thewiggin John Caveson: What again? You really think that I'm that stupid to fall for it after you failed to trick me already? John Caveson: You know what, fuck you and your phishing links, blocked, reported x2 (one for each link) and I hope you get banned. I checked his profile and I've come up with this: He's from Moscow, of course. He only has Dota 2, L4D2, and AirMech Only Dota 2 has almost 1k hours played, the other 2 don't even go past an hour. He's been a Steam member since January 10th, 2013 He is a member of the Dota2Lounge Steam Group, and nothing else His inventory contains only Dota 2 items and a random L4D2 trading card He has 54 "friends" My conclusion is this, he is a massive Dota 2 fan/trader, duh. He probably started scamming at around half a year after his Steam account was created (wouldn't be surprised if he's done this since the beginning of his account). Some of his "friends" are trading bots, and I bet most of his other "friends" are probably fellow scammers, or even accounts he's hijacked. He probably got all of those Dota 2 items through scamming or outright just being a shitty trader. Now I have him reported, let's just hope he gets banned or something. Which brings me to this question. Why are Russians all stereotyped as scammers/hackers/phishers/etc.? You what know I'm talking about, the "high pitched, aggressive Russian kid who doesn't know a word of English spamming you with trade requests trying to scam you out of your expensive hat, and rages at you whenever you turn him down." That stereotype. Where did it come from?

Man that sucks. I remember when they took down the XBox servers when Microsoft closed down the original XBox Live. Though I never played online so it didn't really affect me. Nonetheless, it's always sad to see great games die like this. Let's just try to hope that EA won't screw up with Battlefront 3

http://playminimum.com/ Not out yet, but will be released to Steam Early Access soon. But you can sign up for the beta now. Apparently you go around shooting both people and things called "creeps" and collect power ups for your weapon and "Titans" which spawn after some time and try to destroy the enemy base and duel with the enemy titan. Your job then is to protect your titan while simultaneously destroying the enemy's titan. Looks pretty fun. If you want, use my sign-up code. http://playminimum.com/?share=d7f4d10703 Can't wait till it comes out.

I too have found something interesting. If you go to your tf file scroll to the bottom and you'll find a file that says trainingprogress.txt. This file shows your progress of the training missions in text format. A progress value of 0 means you haven't completed it, a 1 means it's completed (2 for 100% completion for Soldier). However, what's interesting to note is that the classes that don't have a training mission have their own progress value. These are set to -1 since the missions don't exist yet. It's like it's a placeholder for when the other missions are implemented (which they haven't). So it's kind of like proof that the other classes were planned to have training missions but were probably abandoned. I wonder what would happen if I changed the values to 0. I'm assuming for the classes that have missions, it'd just show that I would need to complete them again. With the other classes, what would happen? Another thing, what would the other classes' training missions be like?

ADS makes sense for tactical shooters trying to be "real". It adds a tactical choice. Should you not ADS, allowing freer movement, but less accuracy? Or should you ADS allowing for more accuracy, but less awareness to your surroundings and slower movement? I do agree though that shooters based on movement should not have ADS aside from sniper/special scopes.

    The How-you-got-your-name Thread

Didn't you used to be Designator? Anyway, I made up John Caveson when I first made my Steam account. I've played Portal and I noticed many people try to be Cave Johnson but I wanted to be original and witty and went "wait a minute, Cave Johnson? How about John Caveson? Yes, it's perfect, simple, witty, reference to a game I like, I could use this." So I searched up the name, nothing came up, and I was like "Welp, John Caveson it is then." (I would find out later there was a John Caveson on Steam, but I as like "eh whatever, at least I'm not Rainbow Dash #5642.") Since then I've used that name for Steam, SPUF, subSPUF, Gmail, and even YouTube in the form of Sir John, Son of Cave. It's basically my gaming persona really.

I just use EVE HUD. I've also tried out some skins for weapons, and even had one of those crazy ragdoll mods. I tried to use the Pop it, Don't Drop it taunt, and I got the music and animation working, but the particle effects wouldn't work, and it's just not the same, so I got rid of it. I use to run Stabby's viewmodel script, but, I decided to replace it by just making auto reload on for every class except Spy. Playing Loadout has trained me how to use the reload button again. Now that I think about it, I'm tempted to download gold skins and post Youtube videos to troll people.

    Loadout

Update 3.0 has been announced and in much detail in today's stream. For those of you who care. https://www.loadout.com/forums/index.php?threads/dev-stream-v-for-version-3-0-4-23-2014.8202/#post-77767 The update is not live yet obviously, but the devs are looking to push it out on next Tuesday. So most of the changes in here are probably final, minus a few bug fixes. But who knows, we might be pleasantly surprised.

"THIS JUST IN: Stoned Mario found dead in basement. Reports say the suspect murdered a living box by crashing a vintage corvette into said box. He then staggered out, walked to the basement, had a drink, took out a .357 and shot himself in the head. The eyewitness who saw the whole thing refused to an interview because he "found a tabletop game just lying around." He was never seen again. Now on to sports."
