I didn't actually think you'd notice (but then again I'm still trying to understand how that feature works myself). You catch on fast.

I actually cannot see a thing. So, you lie. I just hijacked an account to verify this. CHECKMATE.

You all know that the Saloon itself is visible even if you're not a member, right?
-
But... but... that's what AMAs are for.

THE SEARCH FUNCTION WORKS DAMMIT.

Even if you don't think you're weird now, you definitely will be soon enough. Hello! I am thesupremecommander, the Head Administrator of the forum. In all practicality you'll probably grow to hate me as so many others do, but if you have any requests you can always ask me. (Or Rammite, I guess, since you know him better and he can do almost everything I can.)
-
That sounds like a good idea. I'd also consider adding a restriction on when you can do a Series 2 AMA after doing Series 1 AMA - I think it's interesting to see how people have changed since they've done their AMA. I know I have.
-
The actual reason why I don't ever want to release stats is because a) we don't know how many people in the queue will actually be here to do their AMA, and people can always get added onto the queue. That's why I'm leaving it at the estimate of a couple of months, or, as I said in my AMA:

Well Na`Vi's not out, they're just starting out against Cloud9 in the lower bracket.

yahud did come back. I personally use notoHUD now.

Well, yeah, but Starcraft makes sense. Adopting two games of the same type not so much. That may just be me though.

TF2 Tournament I have made with some friends: Retrospective
tsc replied to Dvdgg's topic in Team Fortress 2.5
Sounds like fun. Are there any details on when the online tournaments are? That probably plays a big part in whether we can get together a team or not. -
I wasn't aware that organizations had both Dota and LoL teams. That seems a bit counterproductive.

Alright, I've moved forward on retiring the MLP forum and on creating a new Community Forums category. I would like to make an alternate suggestion for the Group Projects forum, and that is to move it to within Community Forums and make it a catch-all for anything that several people want to work on together. That way, things like SPUFcraft could be moved there, and it would fit in more with Bumscag's earlier suggestion.
-
So how'd you get Valve to do anything? They seem to ignore everything that I've asked them to do.

Drawing Board isn't just community stuff, though. That's why it's so difficult to classify Group Projects. I'll ruminate on this more. I'm advocating for a new general discussion thread in Entertainment, because I don't think it needs to be isolated anymore.
-
Actually, here is my suggestion for generally reorganizing the forum. It probably uses more space, but it makes more logical sense than the current layout. Community Forums > Community Announcements > Introductions > AMAs General Forums > General Discussions > Artistic > Current Events > Technology > Entertainment Gaming > General Video Games > TF2 > Dota > Forum Games > > Tabletop > > Roleplay > Trading Private Forums > Private Discussion > Controversial > Adult > [other forums] Retired Forums (invisible) > MLP > SPUFurb
-
Alright, I could see moving Group Projects to be a subforum of Forum Games. I don't quite get what's so significant about the fact that the current games aren't tabletop, but if the difference isn't significant, they could always be merged later, and if it is, then no harm is done. The SPUFurb situation has been taken care of. The forum has now been retired. Huff still has access to the forum, so nothing is lost. I'd like to take a vote on retiring Pony Stable, given that I really think a thread in Entertainment General would be fine, but I'm not sure what would be the best method to take such a vote such that the people who are actually affected would express their opinion. I'm really not in favor of doing anything to Gaming at this time. I do wish I had a better solution.
-
Well, the forum could be deleted and recreated later if it was really necessary. I'm arguing this for the sake of simplifying forum layout, which is the pertinent topic. That's also why I suggested a merge with Rep & Paper Adventures, rather than merging it back into The Drawing Board. I think those threads fit more there.
-
No, it's just that almost none of the suggestions really will improve the organization, in my opinion. I could see the Pony Stable being moved, but at this point I'd rather have the forum retired and a general thread created in Entertainment. (On that note, if we're ready to accept that SPUFurb is actually dead and won't come back from hiatus in the near future, I think that it's time to retire that forum as well.) As for Group Projects, I'd have to say that there aren't any collaborations right now that aren't RPGs, so I don't think the argument that "it could be many different things" is really valid. Even if there were, I don't see the necessity of having them in their own forum - why wouldn't regular threads in The Drawing Board suffice?
-
It would be a mess either way, and since everyone prefers the default, it's not going to change. More generally, I don't think that any of the suggestions here should be accepted. However, I would like to propose that Group Projects be merged into Forum Games/Rep and Paper Adventures, because there isn't any major distinction between the two.
