Corv is the new Ikea Boy. Anyway, we should all play together so you can laugh at how there are no ranks below Silver I for me to languish in.

I just traded some perfectly good mac and cheese for a reusable Starbucks cup, and I don't even go to Starbucks or drink coffee.

I would think most people wouldn't even care enough to remember. Unless they know you, of course.

It doesn't sound like you're putting much effort in. I guess it's better than people like me who stopped giving a care about Halloween, though.

At this point it's more of a running gag than anything else, really.

The last time we did this, we sundered subSPUF into the Rammilitary and the Binocracy. Actually that was SPUFlight and SPUFdark, until you two betrayed your own sides and then tried to cover it up by making new factions.

COURT HEARING: Exprespooky Vs Rammfright, Boonary, HufFreddie
tsc replied to Expresate's topic in General Discussion
As the appointed court stenographer, I arguably have the most important job here. However, I am currently imprisoned without hope of timely release in the sunken city of R'lyeh, located deep beneath the ocean. As my presence at this hearing at of the utmost necessity, I move that we relocate the proceedings to my watery dwelling. Given the lack of sunlight, this would also solve any issues that vampires who plan to be in attendance might otherwise have. Please note that any person wishing to enter the sunken city of R'lyeh must first sign a waiver agreeing that I bear no responsibility or liability should the undersigned see an elder god or some fucked up inter-dimensional shit and go incurably insane, or suffer from any bodily injury including but not limited to: evisceration, amputation, immolation, mutilation, strangulation, castration, mutation, defenestration and/or (but probably and) total scrotal implosion. We hope to see you soon! We don't need a court stenographer. There are no verbal proceedings anywhere, since this is a forum. Accordingly, motion denied. But what if I respond to every future event with a Soundcloud recording? You haven't even responded to the initial complaint yet, and this court will only accept written documents at the moment. -

Well, you're not involved, so I do not have to make adjustments for you. -

Your honor, the request was a formality. Being the supreme commander of the SPUFpowered court does not give you the power to deny the powers of the other courts- witchcraft and nefarious arcane plots are abound- would you enjoy such spooky horrors to run amuck without being checked? Fine, but you are not acting in any official capacity, and this case will continue to be tried here. -

There is no official Inquisitor Office or Grand Inquisitor, and you certainly cannot transfer this case there. Motion denied. -

THERE WILL BE ORDER IN THE COURT. Rammfright, boonary, HufFreddie: serious responses will be required, or I will hold you in contempt. -

That message has been there for months... it's because we haven't renewed our license.

Having a forum that gets security updates is nice. I'd compare it to the migration from Windows XP to Windows 7 - you've got to do it eventually.

Over the past few months, the staff here at SPUFpowered have been hard at work to create our vision of the future for this community. In the next few days, we will be releasing this vision as SPUFpowered "Next", which will serve as a preview of what we will eventually transition to. The features of this new system will include: sorting of content based on voting movement towards self-moderation context-rich thread system proven software basis We hope that you will be as enthusiastic about this radical change as we are, and thank you for your continuing support as we work to make this the best damn community on the Internet. Here's a preview site: next.spufpowered.com

Valve actually listened to a complaint I made and made a change to the game as a result. I don't know whether to be shocked that it happened, amazed that I finally got them to do something, or what.

I was of the mistaken hope that the technical deception would be realized, especially if I posted details that were contradictory. This did not happen.

I feel the need to clarify in this thread as well that the migration to IPS 4 is still on track. The current alpha version is 1.0.16. Unfortunately, I can't install it due to not having an active license, and have chosen not to renew because there is no functionality for upgrading at this point. When this reaches beta and upgrade functionality is added, I plan to renew the forum support license and download a beta copy that will be used for testing. This will be a test of migration functionality as well as of new features, and will not replace this forum until the new version has gone live and enough feedback has been collected.

Wait, really? Source? I know one of them was due to the Bombnomicon, but the other?

It was initially a joke, but when everyone became convinced, it was painful to watch. There are some benefits to the fact that you did take it seriously, though, in valuable feedback on forum systems for the future and in other things that we learned. Are you even serious right now? Half the forum's calling you out, people are calling for you to step down, and you're acting like this is just some data that you were able to collect? I'm sorry, but I have serious reservations about letting someone run this forum who just admitted to saying that he deliberately took something went too far, but golly gee I learned some interesting things about people today because of it, everyone! Frankly, it's mildly disturbing. Nowhere did I say it was justified by that, and nowhere should I be taken to say that what happened was acceptable because of the slight benefits accrued.

The issue was our announcement being too close to Reddit. Everyone called it out and then we panicked. We probably should have stuck the course with only having our fully modified Reddit clone.
