What exactly defines an arena shooter? A shooter based on movement instead of cover. TF2, Quake, Tribes etc. Quake live is decently popular. Apart from that no arena shooters are really too popular at the moment but whenever the new Unreal Tournament comes out (which to be fair will be quite a while) I should think that it'd attract a fair few people.

A silver friend of mine beat a diamond player at a live 1v1 tournament and got stuff like Riot Nasus from it. Pretty good.
