That's just how computers are sometimes. My CPU fan stopped spinning a couple of days ago and I only noticed because my mouse's RGB that I made sync with the CPU temperature turned red (60 C+) when it wasn't even doing anything that intense. While looking at HWinfo's temperatures I noticed the CPU fan said 0 RPM but thought maybe it would pick up if it was put under some stress (Yeah I know it sounds retarded but I didn't want to get up and search for a screwdriver in the very cold garage at 5 in the morning). So I ran Prime95 and then stopped about 3 minutes later because Prime wasn't the only thing at 95. Sighed, turned the damn thing off, opened it up, sprayed some air around and pushed on the fan header a bit even though it was already fully seated. Determined my job was done and fired her up. Cargo cult maintenance prevailed and the fan was now spinning again. I guess it's nice to know that if I need to I don't need a CPU fan to do everyday tasks since everything was only around 65C. God bless the NH-U12S, you could bludgeon someone to death with this dense fucker.

Probably 95%+, I can't think of any reason you'd have an Epic Games account but not a Steam account. The question is really how many of the people that play only for Fortnite will play any other game on PC, whether its on EGS or not. I have a feeling most won't but that still leaves a good amount that will. Similar to how Valve built Steam around its own first-party titles Epic could've safely had a core customer base of kids whose first game was Fortnite who branched out to other games on the store, helped out with its free game thing it was (is?) doing. Really all they had to do was NOT do the whole exclusive thing and 90% of the anger towards them would never have materialized. I wonder who the stereotypical 80 year old 300 lb businessman who greenlit that was.

Even if Epic collected nothing from me I still wouldn't use them because of their cable company business model that can be best described as "Suck it down or suffer, bitch". The only reason most people would use their store is to play a game literally can't play anywhere else because they paid off the publisher, not because their client is actually good.

The only reason they really can is reducing their cut of the profits, which to be fair they can easily absorb. Other than that though, the only other thing they can do is the same thing Epic is doing - throw money at publishers to keep their games on Steam only, which is bound to get them a lot of heat. I'm not even sure they could beat Epic at that, honestly. Epic's strategy seems to be "throw money at it until we're #1" and they have a shitload of money to throw. Then of course once they reach critical mass and have drowned out the competition they start the gouging. The same strategy might also be what Google is trying to do with Stadia depending on how they price it. Oh well, I'm sure the buying public at large is smart enough to see through such transparent ploys, right? Still blows my mind I see people defending EGS by saying it's competition for Steam. It's competition, sure, if you call "we will actively make your life worse if you don't use our product" competition. The worst you can say about Valve and Steam is that they've been dumb and stagnant, but in the corporate world that's as close to benevolent as you can get. Anyway in related news I'm going to call it now and say Borderlands 3 will be Epic Games store exclusive too because Randy Pitchford's a fucking idiot.
