Raison d'être

It's like an always-online single player game but with (massively) added input lag and compressed image quality. And you don't even own the game, at least with other streaming services you could use your own Steam account or whatever. It's been said that everything that can be invented has been invented. Maybe not, but I'm feeling more and more that everything that SHOULD be invented has been.

Even though I never owned any Xbox, Halo was the first multiplayer game I ever played. Whenever I went over to my friend Sam's house we'd play splitscreen Halo 1 (later Halo 2) with his brother Matt. Not to be too boastful, but I was without a doubt the third best player there. I remember I named my guy Killer, and when Halo 2 included a bot called Killer I thought they'd used my name in my honor. Never played any Halo since those halcyon days though. Not to my knowledge but if there's going to be a first it'll probably be Halo since Microsoft loves to shill DX12 for no reason. But then again they partially added DX12 to Windows 7 yesterday so maybe it won't need Windows 10 after all... which removes the only reason I even got Windows 10 in the first place.

The exact same thing happened to me last month when I was building my new PC, it would keep restarting without ever reaching the BIOS. PM'd you the fix. Turns out the motherboard power connector wasn't in fully. I'd check and reinsert those. If that doesn't work then I'd still be fairly sure it would be a PSU or maybe a motherboard issue.

I'm glad I learned English as my mother tongue because I'm too lazy and/or stupid to learn a second language. I got my hands full with just one, thank you very much.

Yesterday a couple friends and I got to talking about those Hitler parodies that were everywhere about a decade ago and how great they were. Turns out the guy who played Hitler in that died a couple weeks ago. Rest in power.

Yeah, but not very much other than one campaign offline and one with a friend. I had the Norman Conquest of England in mind but since that's also the start date of vanilla CKII maybe it worked its way in there unconsciously.

I'll admit I wanted a competitor to Steam but not one that pulls shit like timed exclusives. Can't wait till they bring that dumbass "Buy game at X store and get exclusive gun" shit they used to do a lot for consoles with retail stores like Best Buy. Better the devil you know. Valve may be borderline incompetent, and they may be a bit too greedy sometimes, and they don't even make games anymore (except Artifact*) but they can be relied upon to not be as harmfully greedy as Epic seems to be. After all if the King's sitting on his ass all day at least he's not out razing villages. The ambitious Duke, however, will kill and maim as many as he needs to so he can claim what he believes is rightfully his. I'm going to stop this analogy now. *Which I might add has as many players now as Battleborn did at this point after its launch.

I looked up other videos of this mod where there's an actual rally track map and it's surprisingly competitive with some racing games from the late 90s.

Figures and such aren't my cup of tea but I can understand collecting them. Can't really say the same about Funko Pops though since they're cheap plastic and all look the same.

The true answer is "it doesn't matter anyway". I just said fuck it since that mission went totally down the shitter anyway. Hostages dead before I got there, main bad guy got away, Serif must've felt like a dumbass wasting money on me.

If you take too long fucking around the office before setting out on your first official mission (the hostage situation at the plant) then Sarif will call you up and say "HEY FAGGOT BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW THIS WAS ACTUALLY TIMED" and all the hostages will be dead already. I'm sure you'd know if you got it.

Can't say I remember much of the story, I do recall the boss fights not being particularly good but that's how it was with Deus Ex 1. There was some cool deterministic things like waiting too long at the office, getting the bio-chip, or saving helicopter girl. What a shame the ending didn't depend on your actions at all though.

Really? Wasn't it obvious that was gonna fuck you over? I always thought that to get it replaced (first time through at least) you had to be Homer Simpson-tier. New bio-chip? How can I lose?

Only question is, did you get the upgraded bio-chip?

I suppose at the end of the day the amount of dog models doesn't matter that much especially when they added tri-beam laser rifles that just do flat 120 damage that can't be mitigated because fuck you.

I forgot they took Dogmeat and took half his body off and made him Rex. Then decided that was enough and put Rex x10 in the Big MT. And Obsidian to their credit did make the Legion Mongrels which I can't just write off as Shaggy Dogmeat. So you actually have just the two dog models for the entirety of Fallout 3 and Obsidian added two for New Vegas. Dogmeat Robo-Dogmeat Scabby Dog Legion Mongrel I can't feel but they could have picked at least made a generic dog model so every non-feral dog in Fallout 3 didn't share Dogmeat's model... and his heterochromia.

It just hit me the other day that Bethesda was able to get away with using one dog model for almost the entirety of Fallout 3 and New Vegas (I'm blaming them here because Obsidian was rushed because of Bethesda). Every fucking dog that wasn't the scabby neglected one was Dogmeat. You walked into Old Lady Gibson's scrap yard and saw six fucking copies of Dogmeat.

Reminds me of how GTA V's censorship was fucking insane, especially for a game that was, well, GTA. Not only would it block out normal swears NPCs will say randomly like fuck, shit, etc. but also very very dated insults, like Jerry. Despite, you know, there being a Jerry can (named as such) in the fucking game. Here's all of the censored words if you want a look. Never noticed bisexual before.

Once I learned Fortnite's building aspect was less base-building and more "oh fuck I'm getting shot at better shit out a wall and build the tower of power" it really soured it for me. In every thread about the Phenom someone always makes this fucking pun. I didn't think it could happen here.
