It was just a ripoff of Brother Bear and had the most misleading trailers I've seen in a long time. "You wanted a fantasy epic with a kickass female protagonist? TOO BAD! You get mommy daughter drama and bears." I think they were originally going for what was shown in the trailers, but then Mickey took a look at the script and was like "Hey, you know what? This needs a little more DISNEY MAGIC!"
