I'll try to go with one for each genre. Battlefront 2: FPS. I grew up on this, and its still fun as I'll get out. Kotor 2: RPG. A lot of people prefer 1, but I enjoy the mechanics of 2 better. JK2: Jedi Outcast: Action. Great level design, satisfying combat, and a good story. (Non-Star Wars alternatives) Goldeneye: FPS. (The Wii version, I guess) Nice controls, fun stealth. Deus Ex: HR: RPG. Only other RPG I've really gotten into. Bioshock: Action. Same as before. Good level design, satisfying combat, great atmosphere. Last 2: Team Fortress 2: Multiplayer. Hats. Portal: Puzzle. Portal 2 was good, but less of a true puzzle game.

Just polished off the end of Watch_Dogs campaign in a 3.5 hour rush session. It's actually quite good. Not groundbreaking, but good nonetheless. According to steam, I logged 28 hours, I took the first section pretty slow, and haven't even touched the side missions, minigames, or digital trips. At the cost of the Deluxe edition, completion came out to around $2.50 an hour, so not bad.

I have a wonderfull spot for you in the brig... its designed to push hardware, but its hard to tell at this state. It runs managably on my gtx660. yes. There will be massive battleships and stations to contest, as well as muticrewed ships, like my constellation. The muticrewed ships are planned for the next major release of AC

Hooooolyyyy. Ok, so there's a program called Voice Attack. Essentially, its a voice controlled keybind thing. It lets you wire up your ship for voice control. Go get it and set it up and you will never fly without it again. I have mine set up for a bunch of things, but my favorites are "Eject, Eject," "All power to x shields," "Computer, Lock missile" ... "Fire." Single most satisfying thing ever.

Steam Forgoes Quality Control Even Further with Early Access
Binary replied to John Caveson's topic in Current Events, News & Politics
You realize eventually they plan to have an entirely user-driven store, and completely ditch greenlight? As in, anyone can put anything (that is their own work) up for sale? This is a move towards that. Personally, I'm completely fine with the terms they have provided. It covers their back legally, and its easier than forcing devs to finish their games, or hand out mass refunds. Emphasis on the last sentence. This is what I do. I get early access because I like what they have so far, and what they promise to do is a bonus. I didnt think Space Engineers would have all the content it would get, but I hoped for it. I bought it because I wanted to crash spaceships together. Same with Prison Architect and Tabletop Sim, and Starbound. I've been burned by alpha backing as well. I backed Rawbots on their website, and haven't received a single update in over a year, and now their website is down. But I still enjoy the build I have installed, and knew the risks by backing. I don't think it's valve's job to police it, but they should inform people, which they have done with this. They could do better, sure, maybe a disclaimer before you check out or something, but as the library of Early Access games grows, it'll get harder and harder to decide what is "abandoned." -
It takes some getting used to for sure. Try pressing ctrl + f. That makes the ship follow the mouse better. Also, if you have a joystick, try it.

So thats where things get... complicated. Right now, they have everything set up in "modules." The core right now is the "Hangar Module," it is what it says on the box, it's a hangar that you can walk around and look at your ships. From there, you can access Area Commander, AKA the "Dogfighting Module," where you can fly the ships and fight 'n shit. Now, here's where it gets complicated. A few months ago, there was a ticker that displayed "Aplha Slots Left" on the homepage. During that time, you could purchase a singe package that included a ship, hangar, and alpha access. (Giving you a ship, the hangar module, and AC) A month or so ago, that ticker ran out, and now those have to essentially be purchased separately. So, the cheapest option, (as far as I can tell) is to get the Aurora MR package ($30). This includes the RSI Aurora, Full Game Access on release, A hangar, and a few extra goodies. This will get you into the game on release, and access to the Hangar Module. If you want Arena Commander, then there is a pass for $5. That wil get you access to the Hangar Module, but it is unseen if you will have to purchase any of the other modules because it it not technically "alpha access." So yeah, its $35 for the cheapest way in to everything available right now. As for whether it's worth it or not... If you want to play something now, and have the hardware to handle it, $35 is the cheapest it's gonna be. If you only want to play the whole thing, that comes out in 2016-2017. So yeah. It depends on how much you enjoy alphas and seeing the development process. They put out a weekly show about the development, as well a frequent lore updates, so it never really goes "stagnant." But those are free. I'm having a blast in AC, and it'll be good practice for when the whole thing releases, but if you want anything near a finished product, you're best to wait. Also, upgrades are addictive.

This was uploading while I made the topic, but here's some dogfight gameplay. I'm using a joystick (super fun, just takes some getting used to), and it struggles in a few places, so just know that.
