I do not enjoy guns and I have lived my entire life in a country where weapons are banned. I do not think that sport shooting alone is enough reason to have weapons easily accessible to the public and although it's acceptable under strict regulations I am downright disgusted by how easy it is to get a weapon in some states of America. If the EU decides on a international ban on guns I will see this as a good thing but seeing as guns are already incredibly hard to get by in the Netherlands it won't affect me much one way or another

As for control of overpopulation, that can be done by professionals who are allowed to have guns for their jobs, just like police officers. Also honestly I think that desire for the knockback and "feeling" of a real gun over airsoft or other replacements is somewhat psychopathic. @Rynj: that was facetious towards kras flipping out over guns getting banned @binary: that's a ridiculous argument. Yes, it will always be possible to get ahold of guns, but that is in no way an argument why they should be legal. I can call a friend and he'd be able to hit me up with any drug I'd want, that doesn't mean we should make hard drugs legal and distributable in wall mart. And yes you can kill anyone with anything, but guns make it a hell of a lot easier to do it en-masse. And formulas to create bombs and many chemicals are just as well hidden from public use.

​ For sports, just use airsoft, for collecting use literally anything else, and sport hunting is medieval and should be banned just as well. And if freedom is personal, stop using freedom as an argument to not ban guns.

Both bricks and motorcycles have a useful primary function but both can cause lethal accidents or be used for crimes. Guns have only one purpose and that is to kill people, they are by design a tool for murder and there is no reason a civilian needs to possess a gun. No civilian needs a gun, I don't need a gun, banning guns does not interfere with my personal freedom and if they get banned my house won't magically be turned into a grey cube. This has nothing to do with freedom and "freedom" is only used here as an argument because there is zero other way to defend people being allowed to carry a tool which only purpose is murder.
