They tried it in brawl for a bit but some final smashes (mainly sonic's) are just way too powerful and can guarantee at least one stock off. If you play with 2-3 stocks, spastic jumping after a flying ball with random trajectory and random health giving you a whole stock advantage turned out to not be very fun

So I've been trying to 100% Metroid Prime 2 on the hardest difficulty for the last few weeks. Yesterday I had a minor heart attack when I noticed I missed one missile upgrade and looking at a guide I knew every single one of them, ergo I randomly forgot to pick up one and had no idea which. Luckily I got it right on the third guess and thought the run to basically be over since the final boss is kind of a pushover. Goddamn fuck. He is SO MUCH HARDER on hyper difficulty than on hard. On hard you could basically tank the damage and outrace it but because its health (and damage) is doubled on hyper mode the fight just takes forever and you run out of ammo making his final form a nightmare. Doesn't help that his first form is so frustrating either

Even though Ive probably spent about a thousand bucks by now I do not regret it. It's an incredibly fun hobby and owning that foil Mindslaver and playset of Snapcaster Mages just feels much cooler than playing my friends' yanky saproling deck. Plus, the grand prixes I've played in were cantastic fun and that wouldn't have been possible with a casual deck, and I've made a ton of friends at Friday Night Magic. Finally, if you buy singles instead of packs most cards hold their value so it's more an investment than a purchase
