TIAM IV: Guydiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Cockmongler
Wulff replied to Raison d'être's topic in General Discussion
Visiting my local army barracks today to speak to a recruiter and take their aptitude tests with the hopes of doing career within the military. Will also have to undergo a full physical. Can't wait for the on-base physician to tell me to turn my head and cough. [Jitters intensify] -
Not for women they don't.

It's also perfectly ok to like anime and hate the culture because your average anime fan is a braindead fucking idiot with no concept of quality. It also makes for good posting content, I stroke my dick to my own superior tastes all of the time man, try it. Hey, how're you doing. Welcome back.

Today I managed to remove ufotable's expertly animated cock from my mouth just long enough for me to sit down and write this post without being too distracted. I can assure you however, that while you're reading this I am without a doubt fellating the Fate series' throbbing manhood once again. So here we go! Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (Which henceforth will be referred to as "UBW" in this post) is the 2nd attempt at an anime adaptation of the route of the same name contained within the visual novel "Fate/stay night". It started airing last year and finished airing this summer coming out at a total of 25 episodes and a 50 minute prologue. Production of UBW was handled entirely by the animation studio "ufotable" (Don't ask me how that is pronounced, I don't fucking know) who've also adapted a lot of other Type/Moon IP's such as "Kara no Kyoukai" and "Fate/Zero" not to mention basically every single "Tales of" anime adaptation ever. Now while not every single show ufotable has ever worked on is animated all that well, it seems to be a recurring theme that their Type/Moon adaptations are stunningly animated... Probably because Type/Moon have a metric fuckton of money available to throw at their animation studio, but hey, whatever works. UBW is no different in this aspect. The animation is the first thing that will strike most people if they were to sit down and watch it. While the stylistic choices of the character designs might throw some people off, there is no way of getting around the fact, that UBW's animation bleeds budget. Take this example video if you're curious. It contains no major spoilers to the actual anime. That being said, it's not all roses and there are times where you can tell they've skimped out on the animation by using CGI, but the animation is there when it matters. So what on earth is UBW about? A pretty broad question that would take me a long time to answer in complete detail, but the baseline is that UBW is one giant "Battle Royale". I don't really want to go into excruciating detail about things, as I would rather let the anime speak for itself, but suffice it to say that 7 "Masters" are chosen to summon 7 "Servants" and must fight to the death for a chance to get their wishes granted by the Holy Grail. The 7 servants are assigned to 7 different classes, all with different strengths and weaknesses. Archer, Assassin, Berserker, Caster, Lancer, Rider and Saber. The servants are made up of "Heroic Spirits", which are basically heroes from a different time. Alexander the Great is the Rider-class Servant in Fate/Zero for example. So now that you know the basics, I guess the big question here is: Is UBW worth watching? My answer is: Yes, it is worth watching (If you don't mind a bit of Tsundere) - but your experience with it might be vastly different from my own. I've very recently played through the route in the visual novel that UBW is adapting, I watched the anime with that experience fresh in mind and it was GREAT. Every episode I was clapping my hands and squealing in delight at seeing the book I'd just read spring to life in front of my eyes. ufotable really managed to get the adaptation right, as someone who read the VN, everything felt like it was on point. They did change a few minor things such as locations for certain scenes, but all the events of the visual novel remain intact with the anime adaptation. Truth be told it was fucking glorious. I can hardly contain my boner for this anime. BUT But there is always something and this is just my personal opinion. I kinda wish they'd taken some more liberties with the adaptation. As it stands, I think UBW is perfectly watchable, but they could easily have done a lot more to improve the understanding of the part of their audience which has NOT read the visual novel. There are parts of this anime where the characters just go on and on and fucking on about things that your average viewer either won't fully comprehend because they lack the background knowledge from the VN or because the absurd amount of exposition that sometimes takes place just doesn't belong in an anime. That sort of exposition is fine in the visual novel format, but it doesn't translate all that well into animation. It's such a shame too, because I think if ufotable had just gone with their guts a little bit more and made the adaptation a bit more viewer-friendly for the non-VN crowd, the anime would be a lot more celebrated than it currently is. It's not that you won't understand the anime if you haven't read the VN, but it just lacks a few things that makes the VN the great experience that it is. I think this image of Keanu Reeves with a Ferrari actually sums up my opinion quite well. UBW looks absolutely amazing and runs like a dream and while I can't be unhappy about it any way, I still can't help but be a little sad that they didn't go further with it. /blog EDIT: I can't believe I forgot the most important part, but the Fate series also has an ungodly amount of waifu for laifu candidates. I mean goddamn. GODDAMN.

I don't know how much you guys keep up with anime news, but it was recently revealed that the voice actress for a character called "Agiri" from an anime called "Kill me Baby" was arrested for drug possession (Which is a VERY big no-no in Japan, to the point where she will most likely never work in the acting industry ever again). Well there was a large thread about it on 4chan's Anime & Manga board and after a bit of snooping around, some anons discovered that her name had been removed from basically everything related to the anime. Then an anon posted this. And I was bored, so I complied.

That's basically all the Rifts and Greater Rifts are. They are timed as well and give unique rewards.

I'm not trying to be condenscending in any way, but Diablo pre-70 is not really supposed to be all that difficult. Much like World of Warcraft, the grind to max level in Diablo is really just there to get you acquainted with your class skills and the general mechanics of the game. It'll be fun the first 1-2 times you do it, but after that, levelling characters just becomes a chore (At least for me it did). I don't know if you bought Reaper of Souls, but honestly, the game isn't really much without it. The endgame content which is available at level 70 is tons better than what little is available at 60. In regards to your points on abilities, I'll be honest with you: While levelling, it pretty much doesn't matter what abilities you use. There are some that function really well without specific legendaries and thus will make levelling easier, but that's the thing about Diablo 3. Abilities fluctuate in strength depending on the gear you own, and I am not just talking about flat damage increase from better stats. Endgame sets compliment different abilities with set bonuses and unique legendary suffixes and most of these cannot even drop below Torment 1 difficulty. For example, Monks can get a set that changes various aspects of Dashing Strike (Such as causing it to use your Spirit Pool when it is on cooldown or increasing it's damage dealt by 12500% after you use any sort of Spirit Generator) and suddenly with that set, you can reliably use Dashing Strike as your primary damage tool. I don't want to discourage you, but all Diablo is, is a grind. It starts as a grind to reach max level, then it becomes a grind to grab entry-level endgame gear so you can do at least Torment 1 difficulty, following that it becomes a grind to obtain the specific class set/legendaries that you need to make your ideal build and finally it becomes a grind to get yourself the gear that will allow you to reliably farm the highest Torment level possible. In-between that are Bounties, Rifts and Greater Rifts, the latter here being the "true" true endgame with online ladders and leaderboards. If the idea of cutting a swathe through thousands upon thousands of hellish creatures in the hunt for that one legendary that will complete your build doesn't seem appealing to you, then I'm not sure Diablo is your game.

I mean it was kinda hard to give a fuck about the ending to that anime when the ending boiled down to who could scream the loudest in an attempt to win the "most crippled award" and then have all consequences not matter at all, seeing as they all got better, despite the fact that Tougou is literally the biggest fuck-up in the world and nearly got all her friends killed like the retard that she was. It was also some of the most ham-fisted drama I've watched in anime. I mean when Fuu is listening to Itsuki's audition tape? Come the fuck on.

2/2 major game updates broke the game for months. It might've become polished down the line, but RO2's content releases have always been disasterous. Nothing quite like this Payday shit though. I don't even play that game and it's disgusting to read.

I see you've never played Red Orchestra.

It's 5 in the fucking morning, the couple that lives two stories above me have been arguing loudly for the past two hours and the old lady who lives directly above me (And just below the quarreling couple) has been slamming, what I assume is her cane, against the ceiling in order to get them to stop like 20 times in the past hour.

There is a soup which is very commonly served during the winter months here in Denmark. The direct translation from its Danish name would be "Hen Meat Soup", but I guess it would just be called a chicken soup in English? Anyway, the soup itself is made with a hen and with tons of vegetables such as celery, leeks, parsley and carrots. Once all that good stuff has simmered for ~4 hours, you pull all of it out of the soup and you're left with a very clear and very tasty soup. Then you re-add the above-mentioned veggies, only fresh and springy which adds a nice crunch to the soup and finally you add meatballs and these tiny little flourballs. That shit is fucking divine and ends up looking like this.

Can we just start a PMC instead?

If you can't get past the ecchi-esque parts of Bakemonogatari, then the Monogatari Series is probably not for you. It's not really an ecchi anime and it does have a rather elaborate story, but the characters banter a lot and Araragi doesn't stop being inappropriate at any point down the line. I personally dislike the amount of ecchi and implied Lolicon that takes place in the Monogatari Series (And its diehard fans will tell you that it's "social commentary"), but I think the characters and their stories are good enough for most people to enjoy the anime (Including myself). Helps if you like the art as well. TL;DR - If you don't like the first two arcs of Bakemonogatari (Which is roughly 5 episodes), I don't think you'll like the rest.

Kizu hype lads. I can't believe this film is FINALLY coming out.
