    ???

You can hear the 'denied!' noise the game usually makes in situations where you can't pick when the guy tries to pick him.

Aw fuck, it is really happening, isn't it.....

  2. Smogon.com is pretty much the main forum for competitive pokemon, and has been around since forever. Everyone follows their banlist since noone can really come close in traffic

They get a whole lot of work done with a complete metagame analysis of every fully evolved pokemon, articles and pretty much constant community based development, but they're also very very elitist and as of late a little too ban-happy

Ban-happy for everything except the genies it looks like.

  3. Game of Thrones Episode 2 is out. No plot stuff, just thoughts below.

    Spoiler
It's probably my least favorite Telltale game thus far. It decides to tell about five stories with four boring characters - Rodrik being the only one who likes to break an octave or express actual emotion in his dialogue - as opposed to, you know, a good story with one or two lead characters. Transitioning between the different plots makes me feel like I should be taking notes, sketching out a timeline to keep track of "who the fuck" and "where the fuck". It's also so transparent in its workings, feeling particularly linear and predetermined - even by the parallel structure that most Telltale games use, it seems like none of your choices actually have any merit or consequence. The fact that it shares the cynical "anyone can die" atmosphere of the source material is faithful, but it also means I could not give two fucks about any of the characters. Why should I? Everyone in Westboros is an arsehole, and while in the show, it's mostly because of grudges or ulterior motives or genuine reasons such as those, the game just seems to portray everyone that isn't you or a family member as a complete bellend. When Johnny McThief is getting beaten to death, human decency tells me to stop it, but I'm not nearly as invested as I should be. Episode 2 in particular seems to have barely any decent scenes or stand-out choices, and I can bet most of the ones I made either didn't matter or made things worse. At best, it's a retread of The Walking Dead with quantity over quality for its characters - every time Mira is on screen, the game becomes a bore as she is forced to make stupid decisions because of Idiot Friend or her crippling phobia of not telling the guards anything - and far too much futility and "A leads to being punched, B leads to being punched and someone being mad at you".

tl;dr: Get Tales from the Borderlands instead. More engaging characters, funnier and wittier, twists and grim moments are actually surprising and impactful in that as opposed to being constant and tiring, and has superior gameplay in almost every way.

I think that Telltale's biggest issue right now is that they are too busy on too many different projects at once, which brings down the general quality of their games and stories. They should really take their time, but the issue is that having an episodic system does pretty much prevent that.

  4. I really don't get why that school got offended by someone bringing in a book about biology which happened to contain stuff about pregnancy.

I went to a protestant-christian primary school, and nobody was causing a ruckus when we got asked to bring books about human anatomy with us and some of the kids brought in books about what sex is and how babies are made.

It's just human life, so why the hell did that kid get suspended for bringing a book about it in?

  5. What the fuck kind of "unfair advantage" can possibly be gleaned from your gender when playing a FUCKING VIDEO GAME?

    E-sports are dumb.

I am even more dumbfounded by the fact that they apply the same to their sexual orientations.

Like, how the hell do they even check with certainty if someone is gay or straight?  Do they order every contestant to mail their internet history or pictures, or do they have to sign a form which notes their sexual orientation? Seriously, what?

And how the hell does that give any advantage whatsoever in video games anyway?

  6. While I didn't know XYTWO too well apart from here and a few SPUF TF2 events, he always seemed to be a nice chap to be around with.

He really didn't deserve to pass away at such a young age.

RIP XYTWO/James, you will be sorely missed.

  7. I'm trying to get into CSGO but standing still to shoot just goes directly against all the muscle memory I've built up from playing arena shooters

What will always confuse me the most about CSGO is that bullets don't seem to go in the direction you are pointing your weapon at if you fire more than two bullets in a row.

  8.

Gary, Simon and Alisa - three friends who haven't seen each other in years - have reunited for a game night. Unfortunately, game night turns into them being transported against their will inside Team Fortress II - a popular, cartoon-world shoot-em'-up where blood, gore and death are the main currency. Oh, and hats. With Alisa captured, Gary and Simon must join forces with a group of other "normies" - people have who have been sucked into the game - to try and rescue her and maybe, just maybe, get back to their regular lives.

Oh wow, what a brilliant idea! Lets take away the iconic characters TF2 is known for, and add some nobodies as the main characters with a totally original idea that user Donut Steel gave to us!

I want to puke at the sheer thought of this.

Dunno what is worse, Rare digging up their old franchises for the Xboner so our childhood memories will get pissed all over or this.
