I regret that I had to come back without much to show for my absence, but this was an issue of great importance that had to be considered. To put it simply, this community has evolved much beyond its humble origins as an offshoot from SPUF, and while its name shall always reflect that original history, it is quite a different entity than the SPUF of today. Unfortunately, this presents a dilemma - the projects that are tied to here, such as the SPUFserver, now have a vastly different audience from what this community now represents, and as such this community is no longer adequately equipped to represent and respond to these interests. With our policy being that of official secrecy of the community, it is impossible to admit everyone who is interested in the issues of the projects. This leaves several options, most of which impact the community. The one I present to you today is regarding the Policy of Shadowed Existence, which prevents the general advertisement of and general admittance of new members to this community. The question I refer to you is whether this policy shall be suspended indefinitely. Suspending the policy would have great consequences - this community's composition would likely change as members would be allowed to freely join and advertise this community to others. However, this would make it once again adequate to serve the projects once again as their base of operations. If the policy is not suspended, I will likely divest the projects from this community and move them to a new community created for the express purpose of hosting them. This is not meant to be a slight towards this community, but rather a reflection of how this community has evolved beyond its original purposes. Nothing else would be affected as a result. This decision is left up to the community due to its gravity. I will leave the poll open until it is clear what the will of the community is, although I will not set a definite deadline due to how urgent the matter is in current discussions regarding the server and other projects.
