I think some weapons dont count as 'hold down fire button', the cannon being one of them. At least it never worked for me, had to get it with the laser I tried to get it with the scattergun thing and got one kill. I wound up getting it with a laser, though.

Charisma almost always becomes a dump stat for me. It has very little to do with putting bullets into bad people. I need to try a character based around it sometime, though.
