I can't understand the Ao rating, really. I was just playing The Darkness 2, where you can rip the spines out of, tear in half, cut into quarters, decapitate, and eat the hearts of terrified people who were forced to fight you (and then throw their mutilated corpses at their friends); that game's M-rated like the rest of the lot. But hey, I guess we have to protect the children from...bad stuff, or something?

Sorry, you're right. James Cameron went on to produce Titanic after doing cocaine.

After snorting an entire pound of cocaine, James Cameron fell down the stairs and vomited. Thus Sky Broadband Shield was created.

BancSTAR is a programming language lump of congealed failure. It was used by banks to manage their operations, despite looking like a joke programming language. You cannot use alphabetical characters in the language, so everyone is a jumbled mess of commas and numbers. This means that you almost certainly have to have a big lookup table on hand to actually write code, since this: if (cmd.getName().equalsIgnoreCase("register")) { if (sender instanceof Player) { if (selection.containsKey(((Player) sender).getUniqueId())) { registerNewTower() } } }is a billion times more readable than this: 3001,1316,3,30078 11528,22052,22002,22002 9301,0,1528,1528 31568,10001,800,107 8560,,,1568The fun continues. The language doesn't give each program its own set of variables - they're all global. This means that one program can break another program, even though the two programs have nothing to do with one another. Without looking at every single line of code in the entire codebase (which would be a LOT for a bank), you will have no idea why your program is failing to work. Worse still, these sorts of errors are very transient - they come and go at random, often disappearing entirely when debugged (since you might run it in by itself, without the unrelated program that's actually responsible). On top of that, there's a hard limit on variables. Constant values (e.g. 5) have to be stored in variables, so there is an extremely limited amount of data for the entire system. As a result, programmers had to look and see if constant values they needed were already available somewhere else! This meant that any change to any program could break several programs that were written after it. Also: "Reverse conditional block." That's a sex position, not a piece of logic. It's so godawful that it's regularly mistaken for some kind of twisted joke. -

How the fuck did anyone manage to do this shit. This is literally worse than any joke esoteric language. Worse than brainfuck, whitespace, and befunge. And to think that an actual company uses this to automate bank operations. "There is a hard limit of 2000 variables + constants in the entire system. Anything to be displayed on screen or printed on a form must be defined as a constant, thereby taking up part of this valuable space. As a result, most calculations are done with a block of twenty or so "working storage" variables, which are continually reused. Everything in the system is global. New projects always started off with the programmer searching for a handful of working storage numbers that could be "borrowed" long enough to complete the calculation, then restored to their original values before the rightful owner noticed that they were gone." It's like someone vomited onto a keyboard until it typed out a spec sheet -

Here's a Networking question: Why does my router's DHCP table list the DUID under "mac address." Are they the same thing? If so, why are they different. kthxcorv Wikipedia says that it's a unique identifier used by IPv6. I'd imagine it functions in the same way as a MAC address did in IPv4 corvplz
