I was sifting through the Civ subreddit when I stumbled upon this!   http://multiplayerrobot.com/   If official Pitboss is going to be really anal, we can try this instead. It will run a multiplayer game, and when you're done with your turn, it transfers your save file to the computer of whoever's turn it is next.

I think we should have the game speed be Quick, because anything slower will result in us taking literal days to research a new science

Silent, I was in the same boat as you. Never played a VN before, got Emi first and found myself at Emi Redeemed route (Where Misha gives you that second Chance for a Good ending) and upon finishing it, I was just dead in the inside. Everything ended happy, but I didn't want it to end, ever.

Yeah, they're nice buffs early game, but Meepo's up there with Antimage - They're carries because they get to their lategame so quickly that everyone else is at their midgame.   There have been TONS of changes to make the game more midgame focused, so it could just be IceFrog fucking over hardcarries.

I legitimately want to play Broodmother now. Shit sounds fun.   No serious buffs for my favorite heroes. Lina gets another attack range boost, Clinkz gets a nice change to Searing Arrows, and fuck timbersaw gonna be out of mana constantly the way i play him       Before, Sentries gave a large area of True Sight and a very small area of regular vision.   Now, Sentries only give this regular vision for 12 seconds, so you can see any enemy wards if they're on a hill and you plant them right on the enemy ward.

Step 1. Make a city. Don't be that guy that ends his turn and forgets to make his first city and bears eat your settlers and you lose on the first round.   Step 2. Make your slaves citizens work on shit.   Step 3. Explore shit. Find ruins and landscapes and resources and citystates and other Civs. You can automate this.   Step 4. Make your citizens work on more shit. Maybe make a scout or a better military. Each city can work on a project, whether that be city improvements or units. This means you must balance city improvements with military might.   Step 5. Rule the world.

That could work, but it'd take a bit of tinkering.   We can all be a huge team in which all of our incomes are pooled - a team of 6 would get 6 times the income, but any and all gold, faith, and science purchases draw directly from the shared pool, so every additional person ramps up the need to communicate, lest one teammate spends all the team's money on scouts.

goddamnit i tried adding the poll again and that still doesn't work hm   Everyone else, just post, I guess.   Pitboss or Realtime?   Realtime turns force us to wrestle with timezones and free time and such, but let us have more fun when we dick around in Mumble. It'd also be more interactive.   Pitboss turns allows everyone to play when they want, but this will probably take weeks to finish instead of 2-3 days.   I'll probably put the turns to Hybrid, in which everyone makes their moves at the same time EXCEPT for any warring civs - they go turn by turn.

Okay, so it's probably going to be vanilla Civ 5. Shame, spies would have been interesting as fuck.   I've added a new poll, whether we should Pitboss or not. We can figure out timezones and such afterwards.
