Old games aren't particularly better than new ones, it's just that most people choose to remember the good ones. There are plenty of poorly designed schlocks in every period of Videogame history. Furthermore, the classics have their equal share of stupid bullshit too. It's just that no one talks about it because it's a *Flawless AAA classic* that shouldn't be criticized. I'll avoid rambling on the subject, suffice it to say that rose tinted glasses have a lot to do with the "old games are better" fad.

The classic thief games had mazelike levels and mentally challenged guards. It also suffered from "Stealth level over, time for a zombie level" Classic Thief still has a lot going for it, but if they remove all the annoying spiders and shit you had to fight I'm good with it. Though the recent trailer doesn't raise my hopes with "Garret, there also be monstahs in da shadows" Fuk da po-lice.
