Half-Life 2 Update is good, I guess, but that's mainly because it gave me an excuse to play HL2 again after like five years. It's certainly not an "HD remake", or even a significant remake at all. Whatever graphical updates have been made are unnoticeable (at least to me) without a side-by-side comparison. I feel like the physics engine is a little...wobblier. It seems like it's harder to jump on physics objects and stay there...which is a problem for a lot of sections of the game. I haven't listened to the community commentary yet, but I have to assume it will involve a lot of fawning over how awesome and creative Valve was ten years ago. I think it would be more interesting to see what the developers themselves have to say ten years later. But hey, it's free*. *If you already have HL2, which you do, because you have Steam.
