Wow in retrospect that five course meal theme is the dorkiest thing I;ve ever posted

finished watching a Wind Waker Speedrun, I had completely forgotten how fantastic Ganondorf is in that game

I put a stupid amount of thinking time into this but if I wanted to show someone who has never played any "real" games what the medium has to offer I'd let them play these five games, in order: amuse: Yoshi's Island, simple concept platformer with probably the best execution of the genre. Has a very nice learning curve to get into but gets serious near the end appetizer: Ocarina of Time, often praised as one of the best games of all time, and with reason if you ask me. Still relatively simple but requires you to learn game logic main course: Metroid Prime (wii version): GC version is my personal GOAT, and the wiimotion actually works really well dessert: Shadow of the Colossus, the number one example of how games can be art and how trying to make an artgame should be handled coffee: Antichamber. After getting used to "video game logic" this game gets right into your brain and messes with you every time you try to apply it. It really makes you aware of the meta most games have Also as a little sidenote; I'd actually never would recommend TF2 to a new gamer. It has become so convoluted with unlocks and required meta knowledge that it'd be really hard to get into. For anyone with some basic knowledge of arena shooters, definitely, but from a clean slate it's like running into a brick wall of required knowledge

Would this be for someone who already played a lot of games or for someone who has never really played much more than Angry Birds and needs an introduction? I think my list would actually greatly differ depending on that

I was gonna make a rant about why new Maxie is best but then I realised that Maxie is cold-blooded and Archie is hot-headed and I hope they did that on purpose

She looks like she knows she has to look mean and tough but only joined team Magma this week and is actually really fucking nervous Aqua Grunt is a feisty pirate girl who has been doing this for a while Magma Admin is so confident you barely register as a threat so she'll just go squash you and then be on with her stuff Aqua Admin walked in the room to say something badass but WHOOPS WHERE'D MY SPINE GO

Those bland cybersoldiers are the worst addition to the series by far. Who the hell thought that a series that is all about dodging a shitton of enemy projectiles and fighting a load of enemies at once needed hordes of hitscan enemies.... Even ripping a whole bunch of them apart at once with the Mulitator gets boring after a few times. The rest of the game is okay though, after leaving the boring city act, and going to the good ol' Egypt pyramids. I generally think the new enemies are all kinda bad. Spiders are zero threat and those witch things that stun you are just fucking annoying Space monkeys take the cake for worst enemy ever though

honestly the bottom aqua girl (I guess bottom is grunt and top is admin?) is the qtest of all qts but the top aqua looks really dumb and as if she's in the middle of breaking her spine

Why is Sugimori so good at drawing cute girls? I mean really Anyways Magma girls are cuter but Aqua girls are delicious brown so tough pick

Serious Sam BFE is pretty fun but basically everything they added compared to the previous games is bad. Especially those fucking space monkeys and bland soldiers
