DBS has ended for good, and it was generally a mixed bag. Don't get me wrong, otherwise its fine, makes swoosh noises when turbo kicks in, power is good, steering is good and so is the gearbox. I replaced AC pump last year (car is from '99), other that tiny elecrical gremlins, some worn out rubber (almost 20 year old car, could as well happen on any other car) and locks I mentioned before it's a decent shitbox. Locks for VW seem to be just something that they cannot understand, we used to have 3rd gen Golf (mine is 4th) and locks were also a pain, so that one is on them. And the fact that Golfs for US market are made in Mexico, not Germany could have something to do with the reliability.

That's why NatGuard doesn't suck. We have 2 full days per month of pure training, and then we go home. Once per year big 14 day straight field exercises, and that's about it. We get courses to learn shit online, we're supposed to do PT by ourselves, but since our regional command has not secured funds for our gym memberships, fuck it, I'm not going to do anything. And also there are training alerts, where they can call you on your personal phone at any random time, that you are supposed to answer (I literally got one while writing this post, which is good, maybe they will fuck off for a weekend). That's about it. There is not enough shit to be bored with, even though we do same shit every time we train with minor alterations and we get same shit to eat (almost) every time.

Does anyone here have game/games they developed, let's call it, Stockholm syndrome, that one game that is either populated by cancerous players, has shit for brain dev team that does not even play their own game to know of the problems first hand, or is generally broken by bugs or stupid mechanics? Game that frustrates you all the time, and yet you come back to it all the time? Grinding 5.7 Germans tanks in War Thunder is really wearing me out this week, thankfully there is 24/7 eurobeat stream going on on youtubes and it's the only thing that keeps me from losing sanity.

Since in laptop you are working with limited amount of space, I'd rather have a hard drive and SSD combo, rather than be stuck with disc drive. Quick browse and I see Lenovo Ideapad 320 and Dell Inspiron 5570, both with i5 8250U and dedicated "graphics cards" still have disc drive, but I'd rather go for something sporting something you can actully call graphics card without using airquotes, something GTX 1050 or 1050ti class if I wanted one machine I could do everything on, including games that are more complex than 4-5 year old titles with reasonable framerates. Unfortunately that limits things quite a lot, there seems to be an offering from MSI with their GL62, but since I recently developed and allergy to their products, I'm not going to tell you to bother with it. But lastly, there's Asus with 2 offerings - i7-7700HQ and GTX1050 installed: GL553VD with Strix ROG branding and RGB keyboard, and FX553VD that seems to have better cooling solution, allowing for better performance. So the latter one would be my pick if I needed good laptop that has to have disc drive. But since I don't have to, I wouldn't since it is quite expensive meaning that I could buy a much more powerful desktop PC, with all needed accesories, keep the change, and use old beater laptop for tasks that require mobility, like very important shitposting while taking a dump, watching youtube while cooking and so on. oh wait I already do that, I recomend doing the same, laptop lyfe is misery, I know it well
