Ulf Anderson, voice of Wolf, has jumped the ship and is going to found his own games development studio. Official Overkill store has removed the Wolf mask and it is speculated that Wolf is going to be replaced by Clover like in the Road to Crimefest. Almir is not putting out an official statement about microtransactions at the time due to large scale community outrage. He doesn't want to put more fuel to the fire at the moment and will most likely put out a statement in the following days. Instead he has put out this: The actual weapon rebalance update was less of a balance change and more of a buff everything except shotguns. Almost every gun is hitting 40 base damage, with about half them hitting 80 base. The heavier stuff sits at 120 and 200+ base. Every gun is Overkill ready with base, even the AMCAR. Deathwish is now a joke since just about any gun can do it. Minigun now has ammo pick up (don't know if RPG got it too). All shotguns except the double barreled ones are outclassed by ARs, SMGs, and pistols. Modding isn't quite dead and BLT hook is currently being restored. Hoxhud is going to update post-Crimefest and James Wilko has opened up a Patreon to try to get Goonmod back up. Project Canary is completely dead and there is no word of a potential successor yet. mod_override mods are still functioning supposedly. r/paydaytheheist has become the official subreddit for Pay2Day: Global Offensive. There's now a project to play a pre-Crimefest version of Payday 2. Starbreeze's 2015 4th quarter press release is saying some interesting things besides more DLC and potential Payday 3 if they want to. "PAYDAY Mobile: This product is our entry into Asia and our experiment with the Free to Play model on mobile in collaboration with CMUNE. We see it as a learning experience for future products and an exciting opportunity for additional revenue."
