Silly Videogame Forum Shitstorm thread
Confusion replied to Rammite's topic in Current Events, News & Politics
Ouch, that doesn't sound good, might have to take back some of my optimism. Thought there would be a bit more activity, but I guess the discord is good enough too. -

What, you don't have them equipped by default? Casual. BTW, does this website get anymore active during the weekend? Been on weekdays during EU time, and the posts aren't very common. -

Story time? I saw someone post a joke gif here about going back to the Need for Speed Wiki, so it must be infamous. Oh, I'm not expecting the website to revamp, but the community? Some new numbers always cause some change, even if very minor. But "Evolve" perhaps isn't the right word to describe what I meant, it's too strong of a word, it implies major changes, or becoming better. "Change" is more accurate. But perhaps nothing happens anyway. Maybe the Discord becomes the new SPUF centre? Who knows? -
Well, Sombra requires a high skilled team with decent communication to be used for her full potential. She is painful to play Solo-Q.

I'm not even really into Anime, but Little Witch Academia is gooood.

So how is everyone doing this competitive season? Haven't be able to play due to work and bad internet, but hoping to finally secure my Master rank, and make the push for GM.

Well, this thread certainly shows the difference in forum culture compared to SPUF of old. At least it's contained in its own section. Be interesting to see how this website evolves. -

Why is all the DLC N/A? -
Good point. It certainly enhances my profile, but I would hate to get used to it and then have it fixed. Best do it as soon as possible!
-
Ah, thank you, this is a good explanation. Hope it's fixed soon, it's such a little thing, but that just makes it more annoying once noticed because it's everywhere.

Once, people respected Valve's silent attitude because they delivered. They might not have communicated often, but they released updates and games of the highest quality in the industry, so it was easy to forgive their tight-lipped secrecy. Valve's philosophy of promising (and saying) nothing, but over-delivering, was admirable. A decade later, and it's a complete joke. Not only is Valve's closed off nature a negative, but it looks highly unprofessional. While other developers are making quick tweets about what they're currently doing, answering questions daily on forums, and even making announcement videos and blog posts where they explain the latest patches and their own decisions in detail, Valve fails at even the most basic of communications. They don't even answer basic questions. Releasing a vague blog post every few months, and nothing else, isn't acceptable anymore. Dodging questions and not interacting with the community isn't normal now. Valve put a barrier between themselves and their players because they feared backlash, that "the internet never forgets when you mess up or lie", but nowadays it's an acceptable risk. Developers have PR people, they attempt damage control within hours. They do this because this is what gamers expect now, and that expectation is mirrored with film, tv, music and all other media. Valve thinks saying nothing means no risks of backlash, ignoring that now silent is deafening. Their attitude only worked in the past because social media wasn't popular and they made good games. Neither is now true. Valve needs to adapt, they simply have no presence anymore, and they are blending into the background as a game developer. This must change.

Welcome, new blood! I was wondering why I haven't seen you before, but this thread explains a lot. I suppose I shouldn't be welcoming you, since I'm technically a refuge still myself, but technicalities don't mean much here. Cute avatar BTW. Bit redundant to use "extremely" to describe my voice.
