I first caught Episode II on a cable rerun, and came in right at the last battle. Since even without seeing the first part of the movie I could tell that nothing at all was really getting resolved in that battle, I thought that this must be the halfway point of the movie where everything starts heating up. Was pretty surprised when the credits started rolling.

One amusing thing of the past few years has been the number of people insisting that the prequels are actually very good, and they aren't just saying that just because they first saw them when they were too young to know any better!

If you were born in 2000, you'd be about 18 now. If you were born slightly before 2000, you'd be college age or just above it. This means that we are about to get peak "00's kid" nostalgia.

For some reason youtube started recommending me songs by The Birthday Massacre. Holy shit this is the most hot topic band possible.

Clearly the solution is to have Gene Wolfe write the next Ace Attorney. You'll end up with a series of really good twists the first time through, and then a series of just as good but far more subtle twists that you catch on your second playthrough. Plus his mastery of the unreliable narrator technique would work great for testimony.

I kind of get that feeling, but at the same time you can say the same thing about movies, books, music, etc. Especially in a game like Ace Attorney or Ghost Trick, which are practically visual novels anyway and thus could be judged by much of the same standards as them, I don't get why a replay is impossible. Especially since I actually have replayed Ghost Trick and every Ace Attorney game but the most recent one.

I think the next time I get an opening in my schedule I'm going to watch Konohana Kitan. Because it's been far too long since I've watched a show which was unambiguously trash.

This just makes me miss SPUF. I check back to this thread to see if this derail has further devolved, only to realize that there aren't enough active posters to keep the momentum going. (And worse, that most of the posters who are active are smart enough to realize what is going down). Say what you will be about the old days, but there was something immensely satisfying about being able to generate pages of derailed posts by few choice words. I knew from art sites that Nekomasu's popularity had exploded at a stupid rate in Japan, but this is still ridiculous: (Keep in mind that at the beginning of December the channel had less than 1000 subscriptions.) EDIT: Tried this on the Japanese akinator, got the questions: "Male?" "Related to animal ears?" "Fox?" "Works at a convenience store?" and "Virtual Youtuber," then bam we were there.

You can get Carmageddon for free on GoG. Like, not the classic Carmageddon that you're probably thinking of. The one that came out in 2000 and met pretty heavily mixed reviews. But it's free I guess. Related to that, I only just found out that the Carmageddon devs are the ones making all of those MtG duels games. Judging from that and carmageddon, they seem to be reliably losing the ability to do any bug detection.

How many rounds of recent bans does this make things? The norm for Magic seems to be a couple rounds of bans every five years or so (with the second round being to pick up the cards that they should have banned the first time around).

I also get this a lot. Looking around online, having the brakes fail on your car seems to be a pretty common dream, much like falling, going to work/school naked, etc.
